CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Houston Texans
Before the bye, Jarvis Landry attracted 11 targets in Week 8 following the season-ending injury to Odell Beckham. He only caught four of the targets, but the increased usage was promising in the wake of Beckham's injury. That Week 8 game was affected by wind, and it looks like there is a good chance the same circumstances are present on Sunday, meaning there will be some risk to all pass catchers in the matchup between Cleveland and Houston. Landry has some PPR appeal if the Browns are able to pass on Sunday, but he will be risky in light of the weather conditions and the possibility Cleveland dominates the game on the ground.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Jarvis Landry will be thrust into a bigger role following the loss of Odell Beckham to a season-ending ACL tear in Week 7. Landry has only exceeded six targets in a game once this season, but that is bound to change with Beckham out of the lineup. Landry accumulated seven touches last week by catching five balls and getting two carries. The problem for fantasy is Landry does not receive deep targets, as made evident by him recording 50+ receiving yards in only two games this season. He also has volume concerns on Cleveland's run-heavy offense, especially this week when the Browns host the Raiders and their burnable run defense. Beckham's injury gives Landry a slight volume bump, but he is still a low-end WR2 at best and better suited for a flex spot in Week 8.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Cincinnati Bengals
Jarvis Landry is feeling the effects of Cleveland's run-heavy scheme. Landry has only exceeded six targets in one game this season and has yet to catch more than five passes in a game. Landry's situation is similar to Odell Beckham's in that both players have plenty of talent, but their offensive scheme severely lowers their fantasy floors and ceilings. Now Landry has revealed he has been dealing with a broken rib for several weeks. Landry is a startable option as a WR3 in PPR leagues if you're dealing with byes or injuries at receiver, but he has a very low ceiling and cannot be counted on for much volume in a game where the Browns are 3-point favorites and will be looking to run the ball.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Jarvis Landry matched Odell Beckham's nine targets in Week 5 but was much more efficient with them as he netted 88 yards on just four catches. Landry's 4/88/0 line was one of his better ones of the season, which tells you all you need to know about his fantasy utility to this point in the year. Landry has yet to catch a touchdown, as his only score this season came when he threw Beckham a touchdown in Week 4. Now Landry will face off with a tough Steelers defense that can rush the passer and cover in the secondary. Landry would benefit from additional volume if the Browns fall behind and have to throw more, but he cannot be counted on as a reliable fantasy starter for Week 6.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Jarvis Landry's 2020 fantasy season is off to a terrible start. He has only attracted 19 targets from Baker Mayfield in four games. His season-high in yardage is 61 receiving yards back in Week 1. Landry salvaged his fantasy day in Week 4 solely due to a fluky touchdown pass to teammate Odell Beckham off a reverse. Touchdown passes will not be a recurring theme for Landry, meaning the lack of volume and low yardage totals are very concerning for his outlook moving forward. A matchup with the Colts might bring Landry some additional volume, but it won't be enough to move him above a low-end WR3 at best for Week 5.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Dallas Cowboys
Jarvis Landry caught all four of his targets in Week 3, but only turned in 36 scoreless yards in a game that Nick Chubb dominated for Cleveland. Landry has yet to find the endzone this season and has only topped 50 yards in one of the Browns' first three games. This disappointing usage stems from Cleveland's extremely run-heavy offense, and Landry's role as a low aDOT chain-mover is not a good source of fantasy production in such a scheme. This week's matchup with the Cowboys is not one to be afraid of, but Landry carries significant risk as a fantasy starter every week due to the fact that he works underneath without consistent usage. It's hard to trust Landry as anything more than a low-end WR3 in PPR at best.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Washington Football Team
Jarvis Landry has felt the fantasy effects of Cleveland's run-heavy scheme as he has totaled just eight catches on nine targets in the first two games of the year. That statistic exhibits Cleveland's low volume passing attack, but also shows Landry's excellent catch rate and he is averaging a healthy 11.9 yards per target despite his reputation as a strict possession receiver. Now Cleveland faces off with Washington, a defense that is strong up front but vulnerable in the secondary. Landry could see more targets than normal if Washington's front seven pressures Baker Mayfield and forces him to check down to Landry underneath. Start Landry as a WR3 in Week 3.
