Scouting report

LAR K Greg Zuerlein - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Well, Greg Zuerlein is a kicker. So there's that. That being said, our projections make him the highest-scoring kicker in the NFL for 2019. He was the highest-scoring kicker in 2017, and the 12th-highest scoring kicker in 2018. The Rams' offensive potency and efficiency makes him a near-lock for top-12 production at the position.

Fantasy Downside
Well, Greg Zuerlein is a kicker. So there's that. He's the highest-ranked kicker by ADP, which virtually guarantees you will have to devote a pick to the position earlier than you should want to. Zuerlein has also had a herniated disc, a groin injury, and a foot injury in the past two seasons.

2019 Bottom Line
If the rest of your league also follows the ideal path and waits until the final two rounds to draft a kicker, there could be an opportunity to attain value if Zuerlein is there in the next-to-final round. There is simply too much week-to-week variance at the position to reach for kicker earlier.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17: Zuerlein vs. Seahawks
Greg Zuerlein was three-for-three on extra point tries and two-for-two on field goal attempts in the Rams' Week 16 loss to the Giants. He ranks as our No. 32 kicker for Week 17 so look elsewhere for kicking help on Sunday.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16: Zuerlein vs. Giants
Greg Zuerlein was two-for-two on field goal attempts in the Rams’ Week 15 loss to the Cardinals. He ranks as our No. 18 overall kicker for Week 16 and should be avoided on Sunday. There are likely better options available on your waiver wire if you’re in need of a kicker.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15: Zuerlein vs. Cardinals
Greg Zuerlein had a disastrous day in Washington last Sunday, missing two field goals and an extra point in the Rams' 24-0 victory. He did rally to make one field goal and an extra point in the second half but it was a rough day for the youngster. Given the Rams' inconsistent offense, avoid Zuerlein in fantasy leagues. There are better options available if you're in need of a kicker.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14: Zuerlein vs. Redskins
Greg Zuerlein was a perfect seven-for-seven in extra point tries and one-for-one in field goal attempts in the Rams’ 52-0 win over the Raiders in Week 13. He ranks as our No. 22 kicker for Week 14 so if you’re looking for a kicker for your fantasy playoffs, there should be better options available on your waiver wire.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13: Zuerlein vs. Raiders
Zuerlein was one-for-two on field goal attempts and three-for-three on extra point tries in the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Chargers. His lone miss came on a blocked field goal. Zuerlein ranks as our No. 17 overall kicker for Week 13 and if you're searching for a replacement for this week, you can find better options on your waiver wire.

STL K Greg Zuerlein - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12: Zuerlein vs. Chargers
Greg Zuerlein was five-for-five on field goal attempts and one-for-one on extra point tries in the Rams’ Week 11 win over the Broncos. If you happened to buy low on Zuerlein in daily leagues, you were greatly pleased with the output. But Zuerlein continues to have little fantasy value in season-long leagues because of St. Louis’ inconsistent offense. If you’re in need of a bye week option, look elsewhere.
