Scouting report

ARI RB D.J. Foster - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Foster, who the Cardinals signed off New England's practice squad last year, is a potential change-of-pace back. As Fansided.com notes, the former Arizona State Sun Devil is best-suited for a complementary role. Foster’s strength is his pass-catching ability, evidenced by the fact that the 24-year-old has more receptions (17) than carries (13) during his time in the NFL.

Fantasy Downside

Those 30 career touches don't instill great confidence that Foster is ready to handle a significant role.

2018 Bottom Line

Playing behind David Johnson—who is more than capable of serving as his own change-of-pace option, will keep Foster from fantasy relevance—barring injuries or other attrition.

ARI RB D.J. Foster - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. New York Giants

D.J. Foster showed off his versatility with 4 receptions against Washington last week. While he should remain an option in the Arizona passing game with at least 2 receptions in each of the past five games, his lack of usage makes him way too risky to rely on in fantasy leagues. He might have some long-term PPR value if you’re looking for long-shot keepers for next season, but in most leagues, he should remain on waivers this week.

ARI RB D.J. Foster - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Tennessee Titans

D.J. Foster should carry on the change-of-pace role for the Cardinals this week, and he may benefit, especially in PPR leagues, from his versatile skill set. However, the Cardinals face a Titans defense that has only allowed five rushing touchdowns all season and Foster will split touches with Kerwynn Williams. Fantasy owners should probably just stay away from the Arizona running game this week.
