WAS RB Derrick Gore - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs San Francisco 49ers

Derrick Gore could see more playing time this week as Brian Robinson (hamstring) and Chris Rodriguez (ankle) are dealing with injuries. We'd expect Antonio Gibson to be the bell cow in Washington if both are inactive, but Rodriguez had a sizeable role before his injury, which means Gore could too. However, Gore will be facing a 49ers defense this week that's given up the 2nd-fewest total rush yards to running backs this year. We'd avoid Gore in fantasy in Week 17.

Week 17 at Cincinnati Bengals

Derrick Gore ended up with a big role last week as he led the Chiefs in rushing attempts (12). He also topped 100 scrimmage yards (43 rushing, 61 receiving). That's a lot of production, but he didn't play a whole lot (28%). The bulk of his production came on a 50-yard reception. And 10 of his 12 carries came on the Chiefs' final three offensive drives in a blowout game. Gore will have an elevated role with Clyde Edwards-Helaire inactive, but don't expect another 100-yard game from him. Darrel Williams is the back to own in this Chiefs backfield. Gore will be nothing more than a desperation flex play in an OK matchup vs. the Bengals in Week 17.

KC RB Derrick Gore - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Derrick Gore saw just six carries last week for 19 yards. He actually played fewer snaps than Jerick McKinnon and was out-produced by him by 13 yards. And now with Clyde Edwards-Helaire activated off of IR, there's a strong chance Gore isn't even active this week. He's safe to be placed on waivers.

KC RB Derrick Gore - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ Las Vegas Raiders

After a breakout game of sorts in Week 8, Derrick Gore was held to just four touches in Week 9 for 19 yards on 10 offensive snaps. If you picked up Gore last week, you can safely return him to waivers, especially with Clyde Edwards-Helaire's potential return this week. If CEH isn't back in Week 10, he'll likely be back by Week 11 making Gore a potential healthy scratch moving forward.

KC RB Derrick Gore - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Green Bay Packers

Derrick Gore came out of nowhere last week and finished with 48 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, only two carries less than Darrel Williams. But Gore saw no targets, and only played on 16 snaps (20%). Getting 11 touches on 16 snaps is a high percentage, and one that will be difficult to replicate every week. It appears Gore has a role in this offense, but it may not be quite enough to make him worthy of a start in fantasy. He's not much more than a desperation flex play in Week 9 vs. the Packers.
