Scouting report

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Atlanta
Walker had eight catches for 97 yards and appears to be the only receiving target worth playing on a weekly basis in the Tennessee lineup. That's especially true this week against the Atlanta defense, which has been tough on opposing wide receivers, but not so much against tight ends. The Falcons have given up four TE touchdowns this season and allowed 13 catches for 165 yards and a score to New Orleans' tight ends last week. Walker is a must-play in all formats.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Miami
Walker had just four catches for 36 yards last week in a ho-hum start. But he does still rank 10th in the NFL in tight end targets, so there's always hope. Miami pitched a shutout against the tight ends from the Jets and Jaguars in four games this season, but didn't face anyone with Walker's talent in either of those games. In the other two games, tight ends went for lines of 9-71-1 and 5-82-1. Walker should be a decent start this week.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo
Walker had seven catches for 68 yards his last time out after getting blanked in Week 2. The Bills got burned in Week 2 by Rob Gronkowski, but who doesn't? Outside of that, they have allowed 13 TE catches for 89 yards in their other three games, which is very solid. Walker might get some play in PPR leagues, but he doesn't figure to be a big yardage producer this week.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Indianapolis
A wrist injury sidelined Walker last week, but he should be back this week. He had 12 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown in two meetings with the Colts last season, but the wrist injury is troubling. The Colts have also given up just four tight end catches for 43 yards this season, including putting up a goose egg last week. Keep the expectations low this week.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Cleveland
Walker is dealing with a hand injury that could make him a game-time decision. Expect him to play, but make sure you check the late inactives on Sunday. Walker caught three passes for 43 yards and a score last week and is typically one of the more active tight ends in the league. Cleveland, however, didn't allow a catch by a tight end last week against the Jets, so be careful here.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Minnesota
Walker is a silent killer in fantasy football. He doesn't get the publicity of some of the other top fantasy tight ends, but when you look up at the end of the year, there he is. Walker didn't play a lot in the preseason as the Titans took it easy on the old man, but tight ends are often a young QB's best friend and Walker will be a good outlet for Marcus Mariota. Tight ends work well against a cover-2 defense and Walker should find some openings against the Bucs this week.

TEN TE Delanie Walker - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Delanie Walker is one of the more productive, yet least talked about tight ends in the game. He had 63 catches for 890 yards and four TDs last season. Considering how rookie QBs typically zero in on one or two receivers, he and Kendall Wright should see plenty of action.

Fantasy Downside
At 31 years old, there is always the chance Walker starts slowing down. Is 2015 the year that happens?

Bottom line
Walker is firmly entrenched in the second tier of fantasy tight ends. He's going a little later - rounds 10 to 12 - than some of the others in his range, so you might get a bargain here. He is a solid player.
