PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 1, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Washington
Williams showed last season that he's still more than capable of getting the job done with Le'Veon Bell out. He's not the receiver Bell is, but he's OK in that area. Williams also tied for the NFL lead with 11 rushing touchdowns. Washington allowed nine rushing TDs to running backs last season and considering Mike Tomlin likes to ride his horse, Williams should be a lock for 20-25 touches in this game. He's a No. 1 running back in all formats.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

2016 Fantasy Outlook
After the 33-year-old Williams bailed the Steelers out in 2015 when Le'Veon Bell was injured, many would expect the Steelers to try to carve out some kind of role for him in 2016. Not so fast. If the Steelers are leaning that way, they aren't saying it. He is guaranteed three starts to open the season with Bell's suspension, so you know that going in. But the Steelers are not going to force things with Williams once Bell returns and they don't like to take a true every-down back such as Bell off the field. If you draft Bell, you'd better take Williams as a handcuff. He showed with his 907 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2015 that he can still get the job done when called upon. His ADP is the 10th round in 12-team leagues and 12th in 10 team leagues. With the suspension, that's too low.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Cleveland
Despite starting just nine games this season, Williams needs 101 yards to go over 1,000 this season. He also has scored 11 touchdowns, including two in a 100-yard, two-touchdown effort last week. Williams should get plenty of usage again this week and be a solid start against an abysmal Cleveland run defense that bottled him up the first time they met this season.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Baltimore
Williams wasn't used much for most of last week's game against the Broncos, gaining 26 yards on 14 carries, nearly half of which came in the closing moments as the Steelers ran out the clock. He did score a touchdown and caught five passes for 30 yards to salvage the day, at least in PPR leagues. The Ravens have been pretty good against the run this season and have given up just five rushing scores all season. But one of those came against the Steelers the first time around and Baltimore allowed Pittsburgh's running backs to go for 134 rushing yards. Williams should be a solid play this week.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Denver
Williams manages 76 yards on 23 carries last week and scored a pair of TDs, giving him eight on the season. He also caught two passes for 15 yards. So long as he continues to get 20 touches each week, he's a factor back. The Broncos have give up eight rushing TDs to opposing running backs this season. Williams, given his workload, should be solid, even against a very good defense.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Cincinnati
In his past four games, Williams has averaged 137.2 yards from scrimmage. Included in that total is 134 rushing and 31 receiving last week against the Colts on 31 touches. He might not get that many touches again this week, but he has been on a roll. Williams had 71 yards on nine carries against the Bengals last month and added 39 yards on four receptions. He should be a solid start this week.

PIT RB DeAngelo Williams - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Indianapolis
The Steelers chose to attack Seattle through the air last week and Williams had a line of 8-29-1. But he also had seven catches for 88 yards, showing he can be a big part of the passing game. The Colts have been soft against the run this season. Williams should get plenty of action again this week and he's averaged 130 yards from scrimmage in his past four starts. He's a must-start this week.
