Scouting report

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Daniel Fells vs. Seattle
Daniel Fells didn’t catch a pass last week against the Colts, and he remains the Giants’ backup tight end behind starter Larry Donnell. Fells has caught some touchdowns this season, and he’s looked to occasionally in the red zone, but it’s hard to trust him in a fantasy league with the limited number of snaps he gets. Owners should leave him on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Daniel Fells vs. Indianapolis
Daniel Fells had another touchdown against the Cowboys before the bye last week, but that was his only catch and only target and he wound up with 27 yards. While he’s established himself as a legit red zone threat in New York, the production isn’t consistent and the targets aren’t high enough to warrant the fantasy risk of starting him. He remains second on the depth chart and should stay on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Daniel Fells vs. Dallas
Daniel Fells has been a reliable option for quarterback Eli Manning so far this season, and he had another two catches last week against the Eagles for 40 yards. Fells seems to have a stranglehold on the TE2 position in New York, but he remains behind the younger and more athletic Larry Donnell on the depth chart, making his upside limited. Fantasy owners should keep him on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Daniel Fells vs. Philadelphia
Daniel Fells didn’t catch a pass last week as the number two tight end on the Giants roster. He stays inline to block regularly, and while he gets some red zone touches that allow for a periodic score, he remains a risky option to have in your lineup with Larry Donnell clearly ahead of him on the depth chart. Fells remains a waiver wire fantasy guy and should not be on your roster.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Daniel Fells vs. Atlanta
Daniel Fells has gotten some red zone looks in this early NFL season, and he scored a touchdown last week against Washington. He only was targeted twice however and ended up with only eight yards to go with his score. Expect similar targets moving forward as he takes a backseat to Larry Donnell at the tight end position, and hoping for a score each week is too risky to add Fells to your fantasy roster.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Daniel Fells vs. Washington
Daniel Fells only had two targets last week against the Texans, but he wound up catching both of them, gaining 22 yards, and stealing a late touchdown. Fells has settled nicely into the TE2 role in New York, but without a consistent number of targets, he’s not a viable fantasy option and should remain on waivers, despite his touchdown reception in Week 3.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 – Daniel Fells vs. Houston

Daniel Fells has settled into the second tight end role behind Larry Donnell in New York, and while he caught a touchdown pass on Sunday against the Cardinals, it was only for one yard and was his sole reception on the day.

Against the Texans this week, there’s no reason to expect his workload or targets to increase and he remains a player with very little fantasy upside. He should stay on waivers.
