Scouting report

by Brandon Niles

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 – Daniel Fells vs. Philadelphia
Daniel Fells had two catches for 20 yards last week and saw three passes get thrown his way. He’s a nice backup TE for the Giants, but ultimately he doesn’t get enough work to warrant any serious fantasy consideration. He should remain on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Daniel Fells vs. St. Louis
Daniel Fells caught one pass for 16 yards last week against Washington and remains the backup tight end in New York. The Giants haven’t been spreading the ball around much this season and it seems unlikely that Fells will get more than the single target he got against Washington in any given week. Fantasy owners should leave Fells on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Daniel Fells vs. Washington
Daniel Fells didn’t catch a pass last week but he remains an occasional red zone threat for the Giants, making his name worth knowing. Fantasy owners should leave him alone however, as he remains second on the depth chart to Larry Donnell and has no chance of overtaking him barring injury. While he may get an occasional score, it’s not likely to happen often enough to make him worth adding to a fantasy roster.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Daniel Fells vs. Tennessee
Daniel Fells had no catches last week, and was only targeted once. He remains the backup tight end, and while he gets an occasional red zone pass thrown his way, he has virtually no fantasy value.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Daniel Fells vs. Jacksonville
Daniel Fells had three catches for 35 yards last week against the Cowboys and he remains a nice safety valve for quarterback Eli Manning in multiple tight end sets. However, he remains second on the depth chart behind Larry Donnell, which limits his upside on a week-to-week basis. Fantasy owners should leave the veteran Fells on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Daniel Fells vs. Dallas
Daniel Fells didn’t catch a pass last week, and he remains second on the depth chart at the tight end position behind Larry Donnell. Things are unlikely to change anytime soon, so unless you’re in a very, very deep touchdown only league, Fells has no fantasy value. Fells is looked at in the red zone and will steal the occasional touchdown, but it’s way too risky to count on that to pick him up off waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Fells - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Daniel Fells vs. San Francisco
Daniel Fells had one catch for 12 yards last week against Seattle, and he continues in his role as the primary backup tight end in New York. That role isn’t likely to change anytime soon and fantasy owners should leave him on waivers for as long as Larry Donnell remains the starter.
