Scouting report

ATL RB Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Dolphins

Cordarrelle Patterson saw, by far, his most work in a game during the trip to London. He received 21 touches for 114 total yards, which led the team against the Jets and caught 7/9 targets. Only Kyle Pitts had more targets for the Falcons in Week 5. Atlanta has realized Patterson is one of their best offensive weapons. That should continue against Miami. Patterson ranks as our No. 6 half-PPR RB.

ATL RB Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Jets

Who would have thought Cordarrelle Patterson would be having the season he is having? He had already been having a fine season in a mixed role for the Falcons. His breakout game came in Week 4 with three receiving touchdowns. He is entrenched in the Falcons offense, despite playing just a third of the team's snaps. That's probably the most astounding part of all this. Fire him up again in Week 5.

ATL WR Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Washington

Patterson has made quite the impact for the Falcons offense despite only playing about a third of the team's offensive snaps this season. He had 82 yards on six catches and added another 20 yards on seven carries. He remains second on the team in touches, with 34. Until proven otherwise, Patterson has become a strong fantasy option, especially against a down Washington defense.

ATL RB Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Giants

Moving to running back has revitalized Patterson's career as more than just a special-teamer. Even with just 24 snaps in Week 2, Patterson scored twice and saw six targets. Atlanta looks primed to get Patterson more involved (12 touches in Week 2), giving him flex appeal in fantasy circles.

CHI WR Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Green Bay Packers

Cordarrelle Patterson took over at running back in the Bears' last game, and has earned RB eligibility in Yahoo. However, with David Montgomery's return, it seems unlikely that Patterson will see the field enough to be relevant. He played on 50% of the offensive snaps in Week 10, but will likely return to his average of 18.8%.

CHI WR Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Minnesota Vikings

UPDATE: David Montgomery is ruled out, which means Cordarrelle Patterson should see some additional snaps at running back. He's second on the team in carries (29) on the season, and Matt Nagy likes getting him involved. However, the Bears will likely also involved Ryan Nall, Artavis Pierce and Lamar Miller. Patterson has some upside this week, but he's still a fairly risky play.

Cordarrelle Patterson may get more involved this week as a running back if David Montgomery is inactive. However, it's impossible to know just how much involved, as it's possible the Bears go with Ryan Nall or elevate Lamar Miller from the practice squad. No matter the case, Patterson won't be a strong play in Week 10.

CHI WR Cordarrelle Patterson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Colts

Cordarrelle Patterson could see an increased workload moving forward with Tarik Cohen on injured reserve. The Bears have mostly used Patterson as a running back this season as he's second on the team in carries. With Patterson's receiving skills, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him take over Cohen's role. Having said that, Cohen wasn't overly productive this season before his injury, so his role may not mean much. Patterson is someone worth keeping an eye on, but would be an extremely risky play this week in a tough matchup against the Colts.
