Scouting report

WAS QB Colt McCoy - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 - McCoy vs. NY Giants

Colt McCoy threw for 199 yards last week but didn't have a TD and threw two INTs on top of it against a red-hot Rams defense.

On the final play of the game, McCoy suffered a neck injury. It came out Tuesday the injury isn't all that serious and it's a matter McCoy just being able to play through it. It's not a bad matchup against the Giants who are 22nd in allowing fantasy points to QBs. But the entire Washington offense is a big risk and McCoy is certainly no lock to play. However it sounds like if he can go, he will start. It's something to monitor if you're planning to play McCoy this week.

WAS QB Colt McCoy - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 - McCoy vs. St. Louis

Colt McCoy was a surprise starter last week against the Colts as Robert Griffin III was benched. McCoy finished with really nice fantasy numbers: 392 yards and three TDs with no INTs along with 12 rushing yards. The Colts jumped out to a lead so McCoy and company needed to play catch-up much of this game.

This week, the Skins host the Rams who are coming off a shutout of the Raiders. The Rams are in the middle of the pack, 14th, in allowing fantasy points to QBs, but McCoy is pretty far down our list at 23rd, making him more of a QB3 in typical 10-team leagues. Despite his success last week, McCoy is a risky start outside of deeper, QB2 leagues. McCoy does finish the season with the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys so it's a fairly favorable schedule.

WAS QB Colt McCoy - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 - McCoy vs. Indy
Colt McCoy gets back under center this week for the Redskins as they travel to Indy. McCoy ranks way down our list but the potential is there for him to pick up some garbage stats as this game could very well get out of hand and Washington could be playing from behind. Still, we don't have a lot of confidence he's going to end up helping your fantasy team.

WAS QB Colt McCoy - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 - McCoy vs. Minnesota
Colt McCoy led the Skins to a surprise win over Dallas last week. He threw an INT, but completed 25-of-30 for 299 yards and added a rushing TD.

It wasn't a great matchup for McCoy against the Cowboys, and this week's isn't much better against the Vikings, who are third in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Robert Griffin III comes back for this game so it appears McCoy has been pushed to a backup role.

WAS QB Colt McCoy - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 - McCoy vs. Dallas
Colt McCoy relieved Kirk Cousins last week and put up impressive statistics: 11-for-12 for 128 yards and a TD. But it was a bit misleading because the TD was a fluky, 70-yard play to Pierre Garcon which accounted for a lot of McCoy's stats.

McCoy comes in ranked 30th on our list this week. It's a bad matchup against the Cowboys on Monday night whose defense is ranked sixth in allowing fantasy points to QBs. There's even a chance, as of mid-week, that Robert Griffin III could be back to play. He was scheduled to practice this week. If you need to start McCoy, there's a lot to monitor leading up to the game.
