49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) missed practice again Thursday. Hyde is out for Week 7. On the season, Shaun Draughn has 26 carries to Mike Davis’s 10, though Davis has out-carried Draughn by a 7-to-3 margin in the last two games, so we believe Davis will be the lead back. Draughn should fill in on third downs, but it should be noted that Davis saw three targets in Week 6, while Draughn only saw one. Davis has a 1.8 YPC on the year, while Draughn isn’t much better (2.1 YPC). Draughn had a decent fantasy stretch late last season (averaging 73 total yards in a six-game stretch), but he didn’t run the ball particularly well during that span (3.5 YPC). The 49ers have a Week 8 bye, so it’s possible that Hyde returns in Week 9 against the Saints.

49ers running back Carlos Hyde, who suffered a right shoulder injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 45-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills, was not participating in the portion of practice open to the media, as he had his right arm and shoulder in a sling. Before practice, 49ers offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins said "we'll see" when asked if Hyde would be available this week.

Fantasy Impact: 

Hyde briefly returned from the injury during Sunday's game but ended up walking to the locker room before the contest was over. He was not available on a fourth-and-1 attempt the Niners had when the game was still in reach. Depending on Hyde's status moving forward, the Niners have Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis as backups, with DuJuan Harris and Kelvin Taylor available on the practice squad.
