Week 14 vs. New Orleans
Ryan Griffin scored a touchdown last week which was his second score of the season. That's basically where his value is so don't expect any fantasy numbers from him that will make it worth using him in your lineup or even picking him up off the waiver wire.
Week 11 vs. Miami
Ryan Griffin was targeted seven times two weeks ago, but with the Jets healthy again at wide receivers, his numbers receded back to where he has been with a target or two here and there. Keep Griffin on the waiver wire.
Week 14 vs Miami
Ryan Griffin had five more catches on Sunday and now has 33 for the season. The veteran tight end has been more involved in the offense as of late. He had six catches for 50 yards in the first meeting between the Jets and Dolphins earlier this season.
The Dolphins are 14th in aFPA to tight ends. Griffin earns a ranking as a low-end TE1 for Week 14. He should be around that five-six catch mark again this week.
Week 13 at Cincinnati
Ryan Griffin followed up his 100+ receiving yard game with only three receptions for 13 yards. However, he did score a touchdown for the second straight week. Griffin has been a find for the second half of the season. Don't let last week affect your opinion of him.
Griffin will face the Bengals who are 27th in aFPA to tight ends. We expect better numbers this week and he has been a red-zone threat all season. Start Griffin as a low-end TE1 for Week 13.
Week 12 vs Oakland
Ryan Griffin had his best performance as a Jet last week catching five passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. He has shown the ability to have games like this although consistency is still lacking.
There could be another big game coming this week as he faces the Raiders who are 30th in aFPA to tight ends. With the favorable matchup and last week's performance, start Griffin as a solid TE1 for Week 12.
Week 11 at Washington
Ryan Griffin had become a factor in the Jets offense in recent weeks and was moving up the fantasy tight end rankings. Last week, he was only targeted once and had one reception for -1 yard.
Griffin will face the Redskins who are 16th in aFPA to tight ends. We don't expect much this week from him so keep him on the bench as a low-end TE2.
Week 10 vs New York Giants
Ryan Griffin has 10 catches for 116 yards over the past two games and that includes two touchdowns. With Chris Herndon returning, his usage could slip, but right now he still the best option at tight end for the Jets,
Even with a decent matchup against the Giants who are 21st in aFPA to tight ends, Griffin should remain on the bench for Week 10. We have to see where the Jets go with the position.
Week 9 at Miami
Ryan Griffin has put himself on the fantasy map with two touchdowns last week and three over the last three games. That's where his value is and although you can't expect him to score TDs every week, it has raised his value to a TE2 against Miami who is average against tight ends in 2019.
Wild Card vs. Indianapolis Colts
Facing Indianapolis just a month ago, Ryan Griffin had his best game of the season. He snagged five balls for 80 yards, including a 47-yard catch-and-run. On the flip side, in the September overtime win against the Colts he was limited to just a 12-yard catch. Griffin failed to find the end zone during the regular season and likely won’t post a touchdown on Saturday.
Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Although Deshaun Watson put the ball in the air 40 times last week, Ryan Griffin saw only four looks, leading to two receptions for 15 yards. Without Demaryius Thomas, Watson may pass to the TE a bit more, but the Jaguars are No. 2 versus the pass and did a good job of limiting the Texans aerial attack in October. Griffin should only be started if you’re out of other options.
