Week 16 at Philadelphia Eagles
Even though Deshaun Watson threw for nearly 300 yards last Saturday at the Jets, Ryan Griffin caught just one pass. He has just been too inconsistent to be considered for your starting lineup.
Week 15 at New York Jets
In the loss to the Colts last Sunday, Ryan Griffin had his best game of the year, collecting five passes for a team-leading 80 yards and was just short of scoring for the first time this season. It was only the third time he’d caught more than three passes in a game, however. Griffin just hasn’t been consistent enough to warrant a fantasy start.
Week 14 vs. Indianapolis Colts
It was fellow TE Jordan Thomas who caught the Texans lone offensive TD in the win over Cleveland last week. Ryan Griffin was targeted only once, resulting in a 12-yard grab. He posted the same line of one grab for 12 yards in the first meeting with the Colts this year and should not be started when the teams face off again on Sunday.
Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
In the win over the Titans last Monday night Ryan Griffin was targeted four times, leading to three grabs for 38 yards. He has only 14 receptions and no TDs this season and is sharing playing time and looks with fellow TEs Jordan Akins and Jordan Thomas. Cleveland has a terrible pass defense, but any of the Houston tight ends are a risky fantasy start.
Week 8 vs. Miami Dolphins
Ryan Griffin was inactive last Sunday at Jacksonville. There is no reason for him to be taking up a fantasy roster spot.
Week 7 at Jacksonville Jaguars
After a good Week 5, Ryan Griffin was held without a catch last Sunday versus the Bills. Even though Deshaun Watson looked Griffin’s way five times, the two failed to connect. The TE should remain on your bench this week versus the Jaguars No. 1 pass defense.
Week 6 vs. Buffalo Bills
Through the first four games of ’18, Ryan Griffin was targeted only 11 times and had just four receptions. Last Sunday night in the win over the Cowboys, Deshaun Watson looked his way nine times, leading to six catches for 65 yards. Griffin nearly caught a TD, but Watson’s pass alluded him. Last week should be considered an anomaly for now. Don’t expect a repeat performance versus what has been a good Buffalo defense.
Week 5 vs. Dallas Cowboys
Deshaun Watson has thrown for over 1,200 yards the first month of the season, but Ryan Griffin totaled four grabs for 75 in the first four games. There is no reason for Griffin to be on a fantasy roster.
Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts
With Deshaun Watson throwing for 385 yards in the loss to the Giants last week, Ryan Griffin collected two receptions for 44 yards. The TE has been targeted 10 times the first three weeks but has only three grabs for 63 yards. There has to be a better option to put in your fantasy starting lineup than Griffin.
Week 3 vs. New York Giants
On his only target last week in the loss at Tennessee, Ryan Griffin caught a 19-yard pass. Deshaun Watson threw 32 passes, but just the one went to Griffin. There has to be plenty of other TE options worthy of being on your fantasy roster over Griffin.
