SEA RB Fred Jackson - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Cleveland
With Thomas Rawls injured, Fred Jackson had a season-high eight touches. The veteran could be in line for more although it seems Bryce Brown will be the first choice for Seattle. Jackson will most likely keep his role as the third down back. Even with a very good matchup, we don't envision Jackson as the primary back for the Seahawks. Keep him on the bench for Week 15.

Fred Jackson was involved in a car accident on Tuesday, but was not injured. He will play Thursday night, but will not be a fantasy factor.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Every time someone counts Fred Jackson out, he proves them wrong. And it seems that has been going on for years now. The 34-year old is still one of the better backup running backs in the NFL. He has averaged 10 carries per game since 2008 and has been a consistent receiver coming out of the backfield. Even with LeSean McCoy in the house, Jackson should still see his share of the workload if he is healthy.

Fantasy Downside
As mentioned above, Jackson is 34. His numbers dipped last year, especially in the TD department where he went from 9 to 2. The Bills do have running back depth so if Jackson has problems either with performance or injuries, there is talent behind him.

Bottom Line
It's easy for everyone to say Jackson is done. He has been for years now according to experts. But you have to be leery that it will happen eventually. Jackson has an ADP of 165 which makes him a late pick. He is still not a bad pickup for RB depth so taking him a little earlier isn't such a bad idea considering his history.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17: Jackson vs Patriots

Fred Jackson had only six carries last week, but made up for it with his best receiving day of the season with nine receptions and 93 receiving yards. He really helped his PPR owners. Jackson is still the primary ball carrier for Buffalo despite the return of C.J. Spiller who could take some touches away Week 17.

Jackson had only 43 yards from scrimmage the first time the Bills met the Pats, but did play 75% of the snaps and Spiller was active for that game in Week 6. New England is 9th in aFPA to running backs so the advantage leans towards the defense, but Jackson is still the player the Buffalo offense revolves around. Expect Jackson to be used in the same fashion as the Bills try to split the season series with the division champs. Jackson rates a low-end RB2 this Sunday in Foxborough.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16: Jackson vs Raiders

Since Fred Jackson's return from injury, he has been the primary weapon in Buffalo's running game. He was on the field for 75% of the offensive snaps and received 23 touches. His output wasn't great, but he was the best offensive player for the Bills in their upset win over Green Bay.

As long as he is getting the majority of the touches, Jackson remains a prominent fantasy option. He will play the Raiders in Week 16 who are 30th in aFPA to running backs so we expect a very good fantasy day for him. Jackson ranks a high-end RB2 for the Bills so start him in all formats.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15: Jackson vs Packers

Fred Jackson seems to be all the way back and even though he only had eight carries, he did catch 10 passes. This was a result of the pass-heavy Buffalo offense last week so if you are in a PPR league, he had great value. The key stat from Week 14 was Jackson's 61 snaps compared to 20 to his two backups.

The Bills are expected to rely on the running game more this week to try to keep the ball away from a red-hot Aaron Rodgers. Jackson's carries should be more in the range of 15-18 and with his involvement with the screen game, we should still see the pass targets. Green Bay is 8th in aFPA to running backs so the matchup favors the Packers. Jackson still has value and should start as a solid RB2 for Week 15.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14: Jackson vs Broncos

Fred Jackson is healthy and was in on 75% of the snaps this past week. He will occasionally get relief from Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown, but the Bills will ride him through December and a possible playoff run. Jackson had 24 touches for 97 yards from scrimmage so the numbers should be there moving forward.

It will be a tough matchup this week against Denver. The Broncos are 3rd in aFPA to running backs. But expect the workload and the intention for the Bills to shorten the game to keep the ball away from the Broncos offense. Start Jackson as a low-end RB2 for Week 14.
