DraftKings Week 4 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

Each week, I’ll give my overall DraftKings cash game and tournament strategy thoughts, and discuss how players fit into these strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.

Note: The Sunday night game between the Colts and the Seahawks is NOT on the DraftKings main slate this week.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

There are no games with an over/under of at least 50 points this week and none of the top passing offenses have glaringly positive matchups. These two factors mean it's not necessary to force any high-priced quarterbacks into cash lineups. This might also explain why the top three overall projected values in Week 4 are running backs priced $6,700 and above.

Quarterback

The top three values at quarterback this week are all priced at $5,300 or below. Of this group, Tyrod Taylor ($5,300) has the best odds of hitting cash value. In a game with the highest over/under on the main slate, game flow should dictate Taylor throws more than usual—no quarterback has thrown fewer than 40 times against the Falcons this year. When he has thrown, Taylor ranks in the top third of the league in fantasy points per attempt. Trevor Siemian ($5,200) is a three-point home favorite against a Raiders defense ranked 30th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) to quarterbacks. Through three weeks, Oakland has allowed the fifth-most yards per attempt and fourth-most fantasy points per attempt to opposing passers. The Raiders have also had trouble putting pressure on quarterbacks, with an adjusted sack rate that ranks in the bottom 10 in the league. In a week where there are few, if any, true punt plays, looking to Deshaun Watson ($5,100) for $100 in savings may be necessary. Watson is at home against a Titans defense that has already allowed seven touchdowns through the air and ranks 28th in quarterback aFPA. No quarterback has more rushing yards than Watson this year, who is averaging over 40 yards per game on the ground, or the scoring equivalent of a passing touchdown.
