NCAA Tournament Futures Odds & Best Bets

It’s almost kick-off time for the Round of 64—arguably the best sports time of the year for non-stop college basketball fans. Let’s take a look at some teams and futures bets I've placed on FanDuel for the 2022 NCAA Tournament. From now until the NCAA Title game, when you sign up with FanDuel and bet $5 on any March Madness game, you get back $150 win or lose.

Tennessee to Win the National Championship (+2500), Make the Final Four (+500), Make the Elite 8 (+215)

Maybe I’m buying too much into the SEC Championship run, but I love Tennessee in the Tournament. They’ve been battle-tested throughout the regular season in one of the toughest conferences in basketball this season. Tennessee also has some of the best guard play in the country with depth at the position as well. Guard play is always massively important come tournament time. The Vols are also one of the top defensive teams in the country and rank near the top in adjusted defensive efficiency.

Kansas to Win the National Championship (+1100), to Make the Final Four (+200)

Similar to Tennessee, Kansas ran through a tough Big 12 conference and came out the winner. They have a legitimate star in Ochai Agbaji, who is capable of taking over a tournament. He’s an elite closer on the offensive and defensive ends. Also in their favor, Kansas has arguably the easiest road of any No. 1 seed:

  • No. 2 seed Auburn hasn’t been as good in the second half of the season.
  • No. 3 Wisconsin has been wildly inconsistent and pretty much just relies on Johnny Davis.
  • No. 5 seed Iowa could cause trouble with how well they’ve played as of late, but a future on them would be a nice hedge.

UCLA to Win the East Region (+600)

We all remember UCLA’s Cinderella run from the play-in game to the Final Four last season. They bring back most of the team that fell to Gonzaga on a miracle buzzer-beater last season, including Johnny Juzang, Tyger Campbell, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Their region is winnable. Baylor is not as loaded as they were last season. Kentucky showed some vulnerability in the SEC Tournament. Purdue might be one of the most talented teams in the country, but they’re also one of the most inconsistent and are downright bad defensively.
