2022 Farmers Insurance Open Round 4 Betting & Showdown Picks

With two of the world's best players, Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas, struggling during Friday's third round, Jason Day and Will Zalatoris both took advantage by charging to the top of the leaderboard at the Farmers Insurance Open. Zalatoris had the best round of the day—7-under 65—while the two-time champion of this event, Jason Day, shot 5-under. Aaron Rai and Rahm sit in a tie for third place. Overall, there are 24 players within five shots of the lead.

What appeared to be a sure-fire two-man race between Rahm and Thomas evaporated as neither could get any birdie putts to fall. Rahm still tops the betting market with his best odds to win at +275. Behind him are Zalatoris (+400), Day (+450) and Justin Thomas (+1000). Two dark horses I believe hold outside chances are Sungjae Im (+1200) and Aaron Rai (+1600). With so many big names in the hunt, the drama should be intense. Can the top-ranked player, Jon Rahm, stave off the young phenom Will Zalatoris? Will the fragile past champion Jason Day be able to make enough birdies to stay in the hunt? Can Justin Thomas regain his accuracy off the tee and overcome a two-shot deficit? Those questions and more will be answered as perfect weather conditions and a brute of a golf course await to set up a scintillating final round of Saturday golf.
