Waiver Wire Watch: Week 11
Here is a look at the top waiver wire pickups for Week 11. To be eligible for discussion, the player must be owned in 50% or fewer ESPN leagues, though I'll stretch the rules a bit for the RB position, which is usually very thin. I'll also include suggested bid prices (with a $100 budget) for those leagues that use Free Agent Acquisition Budgets. Of course, player value depends on league characteristics and team needs.
* Players with an asterisk next to their name were mentioned in last week's Waiver Wire Watch.
Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick* ($5)
Fitzy was our top QB pickup last week and he didn't disappoint, throwing for 337 yards and two scores against the Patriots on Sunday. His upcoming schedule continues to be favorable.
Next up: Dolphins, Colts, Jaguars
Titans QB Jake Locker* ($3)
Locker returned with 122 yards and two TDs against the Dolphins, while also rushing for 36 yards. He's on bye this week, but has the Jaguars in Week 12 and the Colts in Week 14.
Next up: BYE, Jaguars, Texans
Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill* ($2)
Tannehilll looked like a rookie QB in Week 10, throwing three picks against the Titans. He's obviously not dependable, but the Bills have been brutal against QBs this season, so Tannehill should post solid numbers in Week 11.
Next up: Bills, Seahawks, Patriots
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson* ($1)
Wilson has been pretty productive lately, throwing seven TDs in his last three games, but has failed to crack 200 yards passing in three of his last four starts. He has a Week 11 bye, but faces the Dolphins in Week 12.
Next up: BYE, Dolphins, Bears
Eagles QB Nick Foles ($1)
Need a Week 11 starter? Foles is not a bad option since it looks like he'll get the start against a Redskins defense that can be had through the air. He's likely to turn the ball over quite a bit, so he's not a good option in leagues that penalize heavily for interceptions and fumbles.
Next up: Redskins, Panthers, Cowboys
Giants RB Andre Brown* ($20)
Brown actually started against the Bengals and played nearly twice as many snaps as Ahmad Bradshaw, who left the game after a hard hit in the 3rd quarter. Bradshaw had X-rays after to the game, but said it wasn't his foot that was bothering him. He's apparently going to have several tests on his neck, which certainly sounds ominous. Brown is worth an add (or worth targeting in a trade) due to the Giants' terrific schedule down the stretch.
Next up: BYE, Packers, Redskins
Raiders RB Marcel Reece* ($10)
We knew Reece was going to be heavily involved in the Raider passing game with both Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson sidelined, but the lingering question was just how much he'd be used in the running game. As it turns out, Reece led the team with 13 carries (and 20 touches) while Taiwan Jones was held to just three touches. In fact, even Jeremy Stewart (7) out-touched Jones. (HC Dennis Allen said that he just doesn't trust Jones at this point.) Reece will be a solid RB2 against the Saints in Week 11 assuming McFadden and Goodson are still out.
Next up: Saints, Bengals, Browns
