GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Chicago

Rodgers had arguably his most impressive performances of the season last week versus one of the best defenses in the NFL, as he completed 27-of-38 passes for 311 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against the Indianapolis Colts. There was an understandable anticipation ahead of this game for Rodgers not to have his usual high-end QB1 games, but Rodgers has further solidified his elite QB1 status in 2020.

Week 12 brings another difficult matchup on paper, as division rival Chicago is ranked fifth in aFPA to QBs this season. The Bears defense has gotten better as the season has progressed, particularly along the front-seven. In another stiff contest, Rodgers should still be trusted as a QB1 in this week.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Indianapolis

Rodgers had another strong fantasy game last week against Jacksonville as he completed 24-of-34 passes for 325 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and added a rushing touchdown. Even though Rodgers had a solid game, this matchup should have been one of his games of the season, but the poor weather limited his upside.

Week 11 brings a more difficult challenge as the Indianapolis Colts are ranked 3rd in aFPA to QBs this season. Between Lamar Jackson and Ryan Tannehill over the past two weeks, the Colts has only allowed one passing touchdown, so there might be shades of the Rodger’s Tampa Bay game in this one. At any rate, Rodgers has been one of the best QBs in fantasy all season and managers should continue to fire up A-A-Ron as a QB1 this week.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Jacksonville

Rodgers had a near-perfect game on Week 9’s Thursday Night game against the Niners, as he completed 25-of-31 passes for 305 yards and four passing touchdowns. Rodgers was on point yet again as he continues to make a strong case for MVP this season as he’s now thrown for at least three touchdowns in six games this season and has four, four-touchdown games as well.

Week 10 brings a very favorable matchup for Rodgers against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are ranked 30th in aFPA to QBs this season as their lack of pass rush and oft-injured secondary have made them one of the worse overall defenses in the league. With Rodgers in sync with Davante Adams in the healthy games, the All-Pro WR has played this season, this is shaping up to be yet another big game for Rodgers. Fire up Rodgers as an elite QB1 in this one with the potential to finish as Week 10’s overall QB1.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at San Francisco

Rodgers continued his excellent play last week against Minnesota as he finished with 27-of-41 passing for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Rodgers was on target all game long as he was locked on Davante Adams who caught all three of his touchdown passes. With last week’s performance, Rodgers has now thrown for at least three touchdowns in every game except one this season.

On paper, San Francisco presents a difficult matchup for Rodgers as the Niners are ranked 11th in aFPA to QBs this season. However, this San Francisco defense is fresh off a game against Seattle where they surrendered 264 passing yards and four touchdowns to MVP candidate Russell Wilson, so the matchup isn’t as daunting as it might appear. On a short week, Rodgers should be able to take full advantage of this matchup and should be trusted as a rock-solid QB1.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Minnesota

Rodgers rebounded Week 6’s nightmare with an absolute gem of a performance this past week against Houston. Virtually playing without error, Rodgers completed 23-of-34 passes for 283, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Texans simply had no response for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense as it was the third time this season Rodgers has hit the four-touchdown mark.

Week 8 will see Rodgers once again face the Minnesota Vikings—the division rivals who he absolutely shredded in Week 1 for his best fantasy performance this year as he dropped 364 passing yards and four touchdowns. With RB Aaron Jones presumed to sit out yet another game, we can expect the Green Bay offense to air it out in what should be yet another offensive slugfest. Start Rodgers with confidence as he just might finish as the QB1 this week.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Houston

Rodgers had one of the worst games of his career this past week against Tampa Bay as he finished with 16-of-35 passing for 160 yards along with two interceptions and zero touchdowns. This is the point of the season that the elite defenses start to pull away from the pack, and the Bucs have emphatically shown that they have one of the best defenses in the NFL. Even with a returning Davante Adams, Rodgers was unable to find him often as he was being chased around all game long by the Tampa front-seven.

However, this game should not discourage his fantasy managers. Even with this dud of a performance, Rodgers is still a top-15 QB and has shown this season he can pop off for a four-touchdown, 350+ yard game at any given point. Rodgers will have the ability to rebound this week against the Houston Texans who even though they rank 13th in aFPA to QBs this season, just surrendered 366 yards ad four touchdowns to Tennessee’s Ryan Tannehill. Rodgers should be able to find similar success against the Titans and produce solid QB1 numbers as we have him ranked 6th this week among QBs.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Tampa Bay

Coming off the bye week, Rodgers heads into Tampa Bay for Week 6 in MVP form. He has been nothing short of spectacular this season his 13 touchdown passes is already half of what he threw for all his last season. Even better than those touchdown passes and 1,214 passing yards, Rodgers has yet to throw an interception this season. Rodgers will be facing his biggest test of the season, as the Tampa Bay defense is ranked fifth in aFPA to QB this year, with opposing signal-callers averaging 14.9 points. However, we fully expect Rodgers to buck that trend as the rise of Baby Kittle (Robert Tonyan) and the return of All-Pro WR Davante Adams will keep Aaron Rodgers as a no doubt QB1 in this Week 6 matchup.

GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at New Orleans

Rodgers continued his excellent play in Week 2 as threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns on a day that heavily featured Aaron Jones. Rodgers seems back to his old ways as his arm strength and accuracy are still tops in the league and most importantly, he’s developed chemistry with his auxiliary receivers. Rodgers' rapport with his receiving group will be imperative in Week 3 as Davante Adams’ health status seems up in the air for Sunday night’s game.

Rodgers faces a New Orleans team that just gave up three touchdowns and almost 300 passing yards to Derek Carr on Monday Night Football, so Rodgers should be fine either way. If Adams suits up, Rodgers should be a solid QB1, however if Adams is out for Week 3, view Rodgers as a low-end QB1 for this one.

Friday, September 25, 2020 - 4:16pm
GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Detroit

Don’t call it a comeback, Aaron Rodgers had the best QB performance in Week 1 as he shredded the Minnesota defense for 364 yards and four touchdowns on 36-of-44 completions. In what most anticipated to be a heavily defensive game with lots of running, it became the season opener’s most exciting shootout. Rodgers was in sync with all his receivers especially All-Pro Davante Adams who burned the secondary for 156 yards and two scores. Rodgers might be on for another big game against the Lions who lost CB Justin Coleman to a significant hamstring injury while starting corners Jeff Okudah and Desmond Trufant are dealing with hamstring injuries of their own. Rodgers should be viewed as a solid QB1 in this game.

Friday, September 18, 2020 - 3:13pm
GB QB Aaron Rodgers - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Minnesota

If we are to pay attention to Green Bay’s offseason moves, then all signs point to this being Aaron Rodgers’ last Week 1 start for the Packers—and it comes against an awfully familiar opponent. Rodgers hasn’t faired well playing at Minnesota the last few seasons, in fact one of his games last year saw him throw for 216 yards and one interception in Week 2 against the Vikings. However, Minnesota will be missing one of the NFL’s premier pass-rushers in Danielle Hunter and have lost longtime starters in the secondary Trae Waynes and Xavier Rhodes. Expect Rodgers to heavily target Davante Adams in this one against rookie CB Jeff Gladney, making Rodgers a solid low-end QB1.
