Week 17 vs Arizona
Higbee caught 3-of-6 targets for 34 yards last week against the Seattle Seahawks. Higbee played alongside Gerald Everett once again, however, he continued to outplay Everett. In a week with a new, unproven starter at QB in John Wolford, Higbee will be a low-end TE2 in the regular-season finale against Arizona.
Week 16 at Seattle
Higbee had a great game last week against the New York Jets as he caught 4-of-5 targets for 67 yards and one touchdown. Higbee significantly outproduced Gerald Everett in this one and led the team in receiving yards. Maddingly inconsistent, Higbee has a juicy matchup this week against the Seahawks who rank 27th in aFPA to TEs this season. Higbee will be a TE2 this week.
Week 15 vs New York Jets
Higbee had a rough game last week catching both of his targets for 34 yards. With Gerald Everett healthy and on the field, the TEs cannibalized each other’s target share and rendered both useless for fantasy purposes. Higbee will be a low-end TE2 for desperate fantasy managers.
Week 14 vs New England
Higbee had a solid game last week against the Arizona Cardinals, as he had four receptions for 24 yards and one touchdown. The score was Higbee’s first since his Week 2 hat trick and even though he produced well, fellow TE Gerald Everett posted a 6-44 stat line on seven targets versus Higbee’s six. Higbee shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a low-end TE2 this week.
Week 11 at Tampa Bay
Higbee had a solid game last week against Seattle, as he caught 3-of-6 targets for 60 yards. Higbee had been disappointing throughout the season, however this game during heavy NFL bye week was a nice touch for fantasy managers. With Higbee still in a “TE-timeshare” with Gerald Everett, he won’t be more than a TE2 this week against Tampa Bay.
Week 10 vs Seattle
Higbee’s days of TE1 in fantasy football are long gone. Ever since his three-touchdown explosion in Week 2, Higbee has seen a paltry 16 total targets. Having seemingly been usurped by athletic counterpart Gerald Everett, Higbee’s production squarely lies in his ability to capitalize in the end zone. He’s a TE2 moving forward.
Week 7 vs Chicago
Higbee finished last week against the 49ers with three receptions for 56 yards on three targets. Higbee led all receivers in yards but had the least number of targets between the primary WR group. Higbee is still not producing TE1 numbers, so these types of games are still disappointing from managers who took him with high expectations. With Gerald Everett receiving an increased snap and target share, Higbee will still be regulated to TE2 territory.
Week 6 at San Francisco
The Higbee Hype Train is officially off the rails as he put up his worst stat line of the season catching his only two targets for 12 yards. With the Rams already spreading the targets amongst their receiving group, Higbee’s decline in production took another hit with fellow TE Gerald Everett leading the team in receiving. Higbee was already hard to trust as TE1 in previous weeks, but now he is firmly entrenched as a TE2 not just in fantasy, but perhaps on his own team.
Week 5 at Washington
Higbee once again failed to produce meaningful stats last week against the Giants as he only saw four targets which he turned into three receptions for 20 yards. Higbee has been average at best this season outside his random three-touchdown game in Week 2, and Jared Goff’s insistence on spreading the ball around making Higbee a third fiddle to Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.
While Higbee has not been a TE1 in fantasy for most of this year, this week’s matchup against Washington presents a great opportunity as the Football Team is ranked 27th in aFPA to TEs. If Higbee has another blow-up game in him, this week seems like the time.
Week 3 at Buffalo
This is the Tyler Higbee we were all waiting for. Higbee absolutely burned Philadelphia in Week 2 as he caught all five his targets for 54 yards and three touchdowns. Without being able to get much going to their WRs, the Rams leaned on Higbee heavily in the redzone and it paid dividends. While it is still too early to see if Higbee will join Travis Kelce and George Kittle in the ranks of the elite TE1s, last week’s performance is a step in the right direction. Higbee gets a tough matchup against the Bills, but he should see enough work to keep firmly in the TE1 discussion.
