PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 - Foles vs. Houston
Nick Foles attempted an Eagles record 62 passes last week, completing 36 of them for 411 yards and two TDs. He did add two more interceptions to his total and now has nine on the year to 12 TD passes.

If turnovers don't count against your fantasy totals, Foles is producing enough for you to roll with week-to-week. But even if the turnovers don't count, he's at the very least costing you plays and drives that could turn into TDs. As a result, Foles comes in ninth again this week on our QB list. It's a tough matchup against the Texans, who rank 11th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. The potential is always there for Foles and the Eagles offense, but we keep waiting for the break out game.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 - Foles vs. Arizona
Nick Foles played better than his final stats may indicate back in Week 6 against the Giants. Foles threw for 248 yards, two TDs and two interceptions.

While at least one of the INTs was not a good look, Foles was very sharp on many of his passes, so there is reason for optimism for owners he may yet turn things around. However, this week is a tough matchup, although the Birds are coming off a bye to help prepare for the Cardinals. The Cards rank ninth in allowing fantasy points to QBs so it will be interesting to see how Foles and the offense comes out after their extra time off. Foles is ranked outside of our top-ten this week, but can still be considered a QB1 start.

The team is just a few weeks away from getting their offensive line fully back which should help Foles and the running game going forward. But there are also plenty of tough matchups on the horizon.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 - Foles vs. NY Giants
Nick Foles struggled against the Rams and was again helped by his defense and special teams. He threw for two TDs but also threw another interception and had a key fumble after rushing and diving forward instead of sliding. He ended up with just 207 yards passing. His last two games he's just 45-for-80 402 yards combined.

This week it's a prime time game against the Giants who are 9th in allowing fantasy points to QBs so this is shaping up to be a tough matchup. The Eagles running game looked a little better last week and the hope is that continues to take some pressure off Foles, who still just doesn't look comfortable. Foles is ranked ninth among our QBs this week. Unless you have a much better matchup continue to ride with Foles.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 - Foles vs. St. Louis
Nick Foles had one of his worst games as a pro last week. He was under 50% completion and had just 195 yards with no TDs and two interceptions.

There were some factors in this awful fantasy output: 1) He's playing behind a patchwork O line that gets Lane Johnson back this week. However some beat writers pointed out the line didn't do a terrible job of pass blocking. But there seems to be a lack of a comfort level there with Foles. He's still taking a beating 2) There could be a non-throwing shoulder injury affecting his throws but the team is dismissing it and so is Foles. 3) He's simply continues to miss receivers, which could be a result of the lack of comfort with the line and even his shoulder. 4) The offense never really had the ball thanks to 3-and-outs and three early non-offensive touchdowns. And one more bonus reason, 5) the Birds have no running game as the O line may be able to pass block, however they are not run blocking at all.

This week, Foles has a nice home matchup against the Rams, who are 23rd in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Foles should bounce back this week and is ranked 10th on our list making him just a low-end QB1 play. Unless you have a much better option, I think you need to continue to roll with Foles.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 - Foles vs. San Francisco
Nick Foles threw for 325 yards and three TDs last week in a shootout with Washington. It was probably his most complete game of the season as he got off to slow starts in both Week 1 and Week 2. He added 12 yards rushing.

It's three-straight games with 300-plus yard performances for Foles, and last week's came with little-to-no rushing attack. This week, he's 9th on our list with a matchup on the road at San Francisco. While there may be cause for concern at first glance, our strength of schedule shows the 49ers D isn't what it used to be and ranks 26th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. This is the first of three-straight weeks with favorable matchups for Foles, so continue to plug and play him.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 - Foles vs. Washington
Nick Foles threw for 331 yards and a TD and also added 22 rushing yards last week. He threw his second INT of the year as well, after having two all of last year.

Foles' fantasy stats were pretty good, but they could have been better. He missed a few throws which now makes back-to-back weeks he's left plays on the field. The team is also struggling in the red zone. These are all fixable issues and the hope is things come together in a pretty good home matchup against Washington. Foles is again a top play at QB.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Colts
Things didn't start out too well for Nick Foles last week. A couple of first half fumbles and an interception had owners a little worried. But Foles bounced back and threw for 322 yards and two TDs, bringing the team back from a 17-0 hole to win.

Foles is working with a changed offense so no need to panic. He did miss some guys who were wide open, but the banged up offensive line wasn't a lot of help and may continue to be an issue until Week 5 when Lane Johnson comes back at right tackle. Until then, Foles should still put up decent numbers and this week he's ranked 6th among our QBs in a pretty good matchup. Indy ranks 21st in allowing fantasy points to QBs. This should be a high-scoring game and Foles should produce once again.

Thursday, September 11, 2014 - 6:29pm
PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Jaguars
Nick Foles owners shouldn't expect a 27-2 TD-INT ratio this year but it doesn't mean Foles won't be a great fantasy QB. Look for fewer big plays and more plays to TEs and Darren Sproles to make up for the loss of WR DeSean Jackson.

Foles should get owners off to a nice start this week with a home matchup against the Jags. Foles is ranked third among our QBs this week as the Jags were just 24th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. The only downfall for Foles owners in this one is the Birds could get up early and kill the clock with their running game, especially in the second half.

PHI QB Nick Foles - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
By now you know the numbers for Nick Foles – 27 TDs to just 2 INTs. Many thought he wouldn’t be a fit in HC Chip Kelly’s offense, but he seems to be doing just fine. Despite the loss of DeSean Jackson, the Eagles claim one receiver a team does not make, and it’s the offense as a whole. But Foles still has some good options to work with, especially with two pass-catching RBs in LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles. On top of that, the Eagles have a fast pace to their offense a lot of times and like to run a ton of plays, so Foles will always have the opportunity to put up numbers.

Fantasy Downside
Jackson could be a big loss for this team because there are a lot of questions about Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper. Keep in mind, this is Foles’ first year entering the season as a starter, as last year the job first belonged to Michael Vick. The biggest downside to Foles is the question of whether or not he will be able to continue doing what he did last season.

Bottom Line
Foles likely won’t have a 27-2 line in 2014, but it doesn’t mean he still can’t be top-notch fantasy QB. We have Foles ranked fourth at the position this season, but he has an ADP of the 8th round, so he’s a very attractive option at that point in drafts because it means you loaded up at other positions. Based on our rank and his ADP, fantasy owners still have some questions about him.
