PHI QB Nick Foles - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Foles proved to be a viable fantasy starter taking over for Carson Wentz at the end of last season.

Fantasy Downside

Foles might not play a single game this season if Wentz is healthy.

2018 Bottom Line

Nick Foles is nothing more than a handcuff to Carson Wentz. He has waiver wire streamer appeal in weeks Wentz is not healthy. Those using that strategy should monitor Wentz's health Week 1.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 21 Fantasy Football Outlook

Super Bowl vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots are the favorite in Vegas in Super Bowl LII. We project Brady for 18.4 points vs. just 14.5 for Nick Foles. But this week, those projections must be looked at compared to DFS price. Plus, pricing is different for this single-game slate. Based on our projections, Foles is a slightly better value on FanDuel and Brady over Foles on DraftKings. In terms of aFPA vs. QB rankings, both are facing similarly ranked defenses.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 20 Fantasy Football Outlook

NFC Conference Championship vs. Minnesota Vikings

Nick Foles was very efficient last week against the Falcons, completing 23-of-30 passes for 230 yards at a rate of 8.2 yards per attempt and a passer rating over 100. He did not have a touchdown though, as the Eagles relied on a second half defensive shutout to win the game. Our value reports for DFS on Foles this week vary based on which site you play on. If the price is low enough, an argument can be made to take a contrarian stab in the dark with him to create more salary flexibility, but the Vikings are the best in the league against QBs in aFPA. Playing Foles would be nothing more than a contrarian play, though.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 19 Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round vs. Atlanta Falcons

Since his first start in which he destroyed the lowly Giants defense for 4 passing touchdowns, Nick Foles has struggled. He averaged just 4.2 yards per attempt against the Raiders and Cowboys and threw for only 1 touchdown compared to 2 interceptions. Foles also only converted on 21% of third downs versus 50% for Carson Wentz. Plus, the Eagles have the third-lowest implied team total in Vegas this week at 19 points as an underdog. If Foles produces fantasy production, it will be a surprise.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles have locked up home-field advantage in the postseason, and head coach Doug Pederson has indicated his offensive starters will not play the entire game Week 17. It's impossible to know how much Nick Foles will play. For that reason alone, he cannot be considered a QB1 in Week 17.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Oakland Raiders

The Eagles play Christmas night (Monday), and anybody with Eagles players must be aware that Doug Pederson has hinted this week of resting starters if/when the Eagles lock up home field advantage. If the Vikings lose Saturday (a long shot at Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers), the Eagles will have already done that. Otherwise, fire up Nick Foles again this week, coming off his 4-touchdown game. The Raiders are 24th in aFPA to QBs, and the Eagles currently have the third-highest team total in Vegas this week. Foles is a low-end QB1.

PHI QB Nick Foles - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Giants

There is some streaming appeal to Nick Foles this week, especially if you owned Carson Wentz and available replacements are slim. However, I like a few other names this week and John Paulsen's 4for4 rankings agree. Foles should have a productive week against the Giants, who have yielded an average of 287 yards and 2.0 touchdowns to Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, and Kirk Cousins over the last three weeks.

KC QB Nick Foles - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Dallas
Nick Foles is starting this week as Alex Smith remains in the concussion protocol. He looked great last week after Smith exited the game, completing 72 percent of his passes for 223 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

He gets a favorable matchup this week against the Jaguars, who were torched by the Titans in their last outing. We don't absolutely love Foles this week, but he's not the worst option available if you need someone.

STL QB Nick Foles - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Arizona
Nick Foles completed 30-of-46 passes for 228 yards with three interceptions in the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Bengals. He was absolutely horrendous in the loss, often holding onto the ball too long and showing little to no feel in the pocket. The Rams' banged up offensive line has also limited Todd Gurley's production, so Foles is forced to make plays with his arm and he simply can't. Outside of Tavon Austin, he also doesn't have a reliable go-to option in St. Louis' floundering passing attack. Ranked as our QB32 for Week 13, Foles can remain on your waiver wire.

STL QB Nick Foles - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cincinnati
Nick Foles could return to the starting lineup this week after being benched for Case Keenum in Week 11. Keenum suffered a concussion in the Rams loss to the Ravens last Sunday and was limited in practice this week. Whether Foles starts or Keenum, no St. Louis quarterback is worth starting in fantasy this week.
