Matt Breida got 10 carries for 49 yards last week, outdistancing starter Carlos Hyde in both categories. But Hyde is still the starter and Breida isn't going to get a bunch of carries unless Hyde struggles. There's no use of putting Breida in your fantasy lineup until he has a more defined role.

Week 1 vs. Carolina Panthers
The 49ers felt good enough about Matt Breida as the backup to Carlos Hyde that they cut Tim Hightower loose. What that means for Breida moving forward will be a handful of touches per game, unless something happens to Hyde. Given Hyde's injury history, Brieda should be on your radar, but he should not be in your lineup this week.
