Week 15 at Indianapolis Colts
In the loss to the Bears last week, Jordan Akins finished with three receptions for 20 yards but lost a pass in the sun on what would’ve been a wide-open touchdown. The Colts limited him to just two catches for 10 yards a couple of weeks ago and he doesn’t make for a good fantasy start in the rematch.
Week 14 at Chicago Bears
Even though Deshaun Watson once again passed for over 300 yards last week versus the Colts, Jordan Akins was limited to only two receptions for 10 yards. He has been held to two or fewer grabs in four of the last five games and still has just the lone TD on the season. In this crucial part of your fantasy season, it’s advised you look elsewhere for your starting TE.
Week 13 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Deshaun Watson again threw for over 300 yards in the win at Detroit on Thanksgiving, but Jordan Akins was held without a reception on two looks. One of the targets was in the end zone and Akins couldn’t quite come down with the possible TD, as it was just off his fingertips. Only twice this season has he snagged more than three passes and has a tough matchup on Sunday versus a stout Colts defense.
Week 12 at Detroit Lions
After not doing much the previous two contests, Jordan Akins stepped it up versus the Patriots last week, catching five passes for a season-most 83 yards. While he hasn’t found the end zone since the opener, Akins and the Texans will be facing a poor Lions pass defense on Thanksgiving. However, he makes for no more than a TE2 start.
Week 11 vs. New England Patriots
In the loss to the Browns last week, it was fellow TE Pharaoh Brown who caught the team’s lone touchdown, as Jordan Akins was limited to just a five-yard grab. Since his return from a concussion and ankle injury, Akins has only three receptions for 24 yards the past two games. He has another tough matchup versus a decent Patriots pass defense, so it’s advised you look elsewhere for your starting TE.
Week 10 at Cleveland Browns
After dealing with ankle and concussion injuries, Jordan Akins returned to the field last week in the win over the Jaguars, catching two passes for 19 yards. It was the fourth straight outing he’s failed to find the end zone and should only be added to your starting lineup if you’re low on TE options.
Week 9 at Jacksonville Jaguars
After missing the last three games, including the first meeting with the Jags last month, Jordan Akins is expected back on Sunday. In the four games he’s played in this season Akins is averaging 42 yards with his lone TD coming in Week 1. Jacksonville struggles against the pass but Akins is just a TE2 play.
Week 7 vs. Green Bay Packers
Jordan Akins has missed the past two contests with an ankle injury and being in the concussion protocol. In his absence, fellow TE Darren Fells has posted two strong outings, but Akins should return on Sunday. If both TEs are active, neither one makes for a good fantasy option.
Week 6 at Tennessee Titans
After missing last week’s contest with an ankle injury and being in the concussion protocol, Jordan Akins will return on Sunday at Tennessee. In Akins absence versus the Jags fellow TE Darren Fells hauled in a 44-yard score, as Deshaun Watson threw for over 350 yards. Even though the Titans are allowing over 260 yards through the air in their four games, Akins is still considered just a TE2 option.
Week 5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Of Deshaun Watson’s 20 completions last week, three were recorded by Jordan Akins. In the loss to Minnesota he finished with 46 yards and is averaging 42 yards per outing this season. Akins hasn’t found the end zone since the opener but has a good matchup on Sunday versus a suspect Jaguars defense. However, he remains a TE2 option.
