Week 14. vs. New Orleans
The Bucs said this week they "may have an expanded role" for Jacquizz Rodgers. That comes as a bit of a surprise considering Charles Sims is expected to return this week. For now, we'll just write that up as coach talk.
Rodgers got a bit more work last week with Martin injured near the end of the game, but he's not a reliable option, even in a good matchup against the Saints.
Week 8 vs. Oakland
Jacquizz Rodgers still doesn't have a touchdown this season, but owners aren't complaining after the third-string runner has put up back-to-back 100-yard games. Not only is he producing, but Rodgers is getting plenty of touches with 30 carries and 26 carries in his last two games.
With Doug Martin expected to miss another week, Rodgers will once again be the main carrier in the backfield. He'll face a soft Raiders defense, which has allowed at least 70 rushing yards to backs in every single game.
Rodgers is an easy RB1 play this week in a juicy matchup.
Jacquizz Rodgers - Week 7 vs. San Francisco
Jacquizz Rodgers will continue being the top back, and we learned two weeks ago that the Bucs trust him entirely. Rodgers saw 30 carries and went for 100+ yards against the Panthers.
He should continue to carry the rock, and he gets a dream matchup against the 49ers in Week 7. San Francisco has been gauged by running backs all season, including five straight games of 130+ yards on the ground.
A few weeks ago it would have seemed crazy to consider Rodgers an RB1, but with his opportunity and the matchup, the world will be his this week.
Week 5 vs. Carolina
Jacquizz Rodgers could draw the start this week if Charles Sims is inactive. Sims has been missing practice, and there's a fear he won't play. But even if Rodgers plays, there won't be a lot of faith in his production.
He gets a tough matchup, and he's not very good. He should get plenty of touches, making him a low-end RB2 or flex option, however.
Week 3 vs. Los Angeles
Jacquizz Rodgers makes a blip on the fantasy radar this week with Doug Martin sidelined. Charles Sims will be the primary back, and we expect Rodgers to play a role as well. Since we haven't seen how the Bucs will use Rodgers in a full game, it's hard to trust him, and that's why he's not a reliable option this week.
Week 17: Rodgers vs. Panthers
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 29 yards while catching one pass for an additional three yards in the Falcons' Week 16 win over the Saints. The carries were a season-high for Rodgers, who started the second half for Atlanta after Steven Jackson exited the game in the second quarter with a thigh injury. Jackson hasn't practiced so Rodgers and Devonta Freeman will share the load on Sunday versus a Carolina defense that ranks No. 5 overall versus fantasy RBs this season. Rodgers runs hard and will receive plenty of touches this week but he's always been an unreliable fantasy option. Avoid him for Week 17.
Week 16: Rodgers vs. Saints
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed twice for three yards while also catching one pass for 12 additional yards in the Falcons’ Week 15 loss to the Steelers. Rodgers doesn’t receive enough touches behind Steven Jackson to merit fantasy consideration. Avoid him for Week 16.
Week 15: Rodgers vs. Steelers
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed three times for 20 yards and caught one-of-three targets for 14 yards in the Falcons' Week 14 loss to the Packers. Rodgers is a tough runner for his size but he's merely a COP back in Atlanta's committee. He doesn't receive enough touches to hold any fantasy value and thus, leave him on your waiver wire.
Week 14: Rodgers vs. Packers
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed four times for seven yards while catching three passes for 18 yards in the Falcons’ Week 13 win over the Cardinals. Buried in a three-back rotation that also includes Steven Jackson and rookie Devonta Freeman, Rodgers has limited opportunities and thus, limited fantasy appeal. Leave him on your waiver wire.
Week 13: Rodgers vs. Cardinals
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed three times for 16 yards and added three catches for 11 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' Week 12 loss to the Browns. The touchdown was only his second of the season as he continues to share carries with Steven Jackson and Devonta Freeman. Rodgers has zero fantasy value.
