CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Ed Dickson vs. Atlanta
Ed Dickson caught the only pass thrown his way on Monday night against the Eagles, and gained seven yards. This is the kind of fantasy total that has become expected of the veteran from Oregon, and there’s no reason to expect his role to change this week. Even with a nice matchup, Dickson isn’t worth a fantasy roster spot.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Ed Dickson vs. Philadelphia
Ed Dickson didn’t catch a pass last week and the Panthers offense struggled all game against the Saints. Dickson remains a backup in Carolina and, barring injury, has no chance of increasing his spot on the depth chart behind Greg Olsen. Fantasy owners should leave Dickson on waivers.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Ed Dickson vs. New Orleans
Ed Dickson had only one catch and 13 yards last week against the Seahawks, and this is the kind of production that fantasy owners can expect from the veteran out of Oregon. Dickson remains behind Greg Olsen on the depth chart and he should remain on waivers until he shows otherwise.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Ed Dickson vs. Seattle
Ed Dickson didn’t catch a pass last week against the Packers, despite Carolina getting blown out by Aaron Rodgers and Company. The veteran tight end continues to take on a backup role behind star player Greg Olsen, and there’s no reason to expect that to change any time soon. Dickson should remain on the waiver wire.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Ed Dickson vs. Green Bay
Ed Dickson didn’t catch a pass last week and he still is taking a backseat to Greg Olsen in the passing game. He also has seen time on the sidelines watching Brandon Williams get on the field, who is a better blocker. Dickson has no fantasy value at this time, and it’s hard to imagine that changing any time soon, barring a major injury to Olsen.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Ed Dickson vs. Cincinnati
Ed Dickson caught his first two passes of the season this past week against the Bears, totaling 16 yards as the secondary receiving tight end in Carolina. Based on his track record, this looks like about the bet you can hope for from Dickson, and fantasy owners should leave him on waivers.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Ed Dickson vs. Chicago
Ed Dickson hasn’t done anything so far this season as the Panthers TE2 and once again, he wasn’t targeted last week in his revenge game against the Ravens. The Panthers got killed by Dickson’s former team, and the athletic former Duck and Raven doesn’t seem to be gaining any traction in the Carolina offense. He should remain on waivers.

Friday, October 3, 2014 - 10:16am
CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Ed Dickson vs. Baltimore
Ed Dickson wasn’t targeted last week against the Steelers and he is an afterthought in the Panthers offense behind legitimate receiving targets out wide and at the TE1 spot with veteran Greg Olsen, who is having an excellent year. There’s no reason to expect that to change this week, and Dickson is even getting pressed for snaps by converted fullback Richie Brockel and preseason favorite Brandon Williams. Leave Dickson on waivers.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 – Ed Dickson vs. Pittsburgh

Ed Dickson (yawn) still hasn’t caught (yawn) any, zzzzzzz….

Sorry, I fell asleep waiting for Ed Dickson to realize his potential…

He should stay… zzzzzz… on waivers…. (yawn)… until further notice.

CAR TE Ed Dickson - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 – Ed Dickson vs. Detroit
Ed Dickson failed to make an impact and was used mostly as a blocker last week against the Bucs. The athletic former Raven will continue to see the field in large packages but will remain second on the depth chart to Greg Olsen and should not be considered a viable fantasy option for the foreseeable future. He should remain on the waiver wire.
