IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 19, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 19 vs. Denver

When Dwayne Allen faced the Broncos in Week 1 he had a productive day totaling four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. Allen's been successful all season long and the Broncos have struggled to cover the position.

Denver's defense has allowed the second-most receptions to tight ends this season. Allen typically doesn't catch a lot of passes, but he does catch touchdowns. He'll be one of the better options at tight end this week simply due to the lack of talent at the position. He's not an elite option, but he's a strong bet to find the endzone.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Wild Card vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Dwayne Allen hasn't caught a pass in the last two games because he's been dealing with a knee injury. He's officially listed as probable, so it's likely he'll be ready to play this week. In Allen's 13 starts this season he's averaged just 30 yards a game.

Allen's value comes in the redzone. In his 13 starts, he's also caught eight touchdowns. He's very likely to score a touchdown for the Colts. But if he doesn't, he could be a huge bust on your lineup.

Starting Allen is basically gambling he'll score a touchdown. He'll try to do it against a Bengals defense that's only allowed a touchdown to a tight end in four games this season.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 16 vs. Dallas
Dwayne Allen has found his calling. He's good at catching touchdowns. He's now caught a touchdown in eight games out of 11. That's not bad. He'll have the chance to put up good numbers this week in a favorable matchup against Dallas. The Cowboys have allowed the third-most points to tight ends this season. Allen should be viewed as a low-end TE1.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 15 vs. Houston Texans

Dwayne Allen didn't make a strong return last week. The Colts TE finished with just one reception for five yards on three targets. Allen is really only a strong option at TE when he scores a touchdown, which he's done in seven out of 10 games this season.

He'll draw a difficult matchup this week against Houston. The last time he played them he finished with three receptions on seven targets for 49 yards. He's not a strong option.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 14 vs. Cleveland Browns

Dwayne Allen is expected to return this week. He was injured early in the Patriots' game in Week 11 and has since missed the last two games. Before his injury he was one of the most reliable tight ends to find the endzone. He had scored seven times in nine games.

The concern with Allen moving forward is the emergence of Coby Fleener. The team's other tight end has put up huge numbers in Allen's absence and could continue to get looks.

For now it looks like the two may cancel each other out, causing headaches for fantasy owners. Assuming he suits up, Allen is a borderline TE1 because of his ability to score.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 11 vs. New England

Dwayne Allen is a touchdown machine. He's caught a touchdown in all but two games this season. That is amazingly consistent. Even better is he's facing a Patriots defense that's allowed a touchdown to a tight end in three consecutive games.

Allen doesn't get many yards, but he's usually a good bet to score, making him a borderline TE1 option most weeks.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 9 vs. New York Giants

All Dwayne Allen does is catch touchdowns. Literally, it's the only thing he did last week against Pittsburgh. He had one catch for 21 yards and his sixth touchdown in eight games. Even with Reggie Wayne out and Andrew Luck throwing for over 400 yards, Allen had just two targets.

He's a good bet to score, but if he doesn't find the end zone he could be a big bust. He'll go up against a Giants defense that's allowed two touchdowns to the TE position in back-to-back games. Allen is a borderline TE1.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 8 vs. Pittsburgh

Another game, another touchdown for Dwayne Allen last week. He's now caught a touchdown pass in five out of seven games this season. And outside of Week 2 he's remained fairly consistent with his receiving yards.

Allen isn't the type of player to put up huge numbers, but he's always a threat to score. His connection with Andrew Luck in the red zone makes him a borderline TE1 option.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 7 vs. Cincinnati

Dwayne Allen has four touchdowns through six games and is third on the team in receiving yards. He's become a nice surprise so far. He'll look to continue his strong season this week against Cincinnati.

The Bengals are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. Allen is a low TE1 in a favorable matchup.

IND TE Dwayne Allen - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dwayne Allen - Week 6 vs. Houston

Dwayne Allen has at least 38 yards and a touchdown in four of his five games this season. Usually I would say you can't rely on a player catching a touchdown every week, but Allen has been pretty consistent so far.

This week he'll face a Texans defense that has only allowed one touchdown to an opposing tight end this season.

Allen should be used as a low TE1 option. He's a bit of a boom-or-bust play weekly, but such is the nature of the TE position.
