WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Bears
Chris Thompson had one carry for six yards and added four catches for 18 yards last week. His total touches have really fallen off since getting hurt in Week 6, which doesn't make him a safe play in just about any format. Jay Gruden, however, said the team may have to turn more toward shorter, safer passes instead of using the struggling running game. This is something Thompson could benefit from if it plays out that way. It's at least something to monitor in PPR leagues.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina
Chris Thompson ran twice for 54 yards and added a catch for 23 yards. He produced some big plays, but still finished behind Alfred Morris and Matt Jones in terms of fantasy production. He also has just five touches over his last two games whereas between Weeks 2-6 he averaged over nine touches. Right now, he's just not a safe fantasy option until he starts to see more touches again.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs New Orleans
Chris Thompson caught just two balls for 21 yards last week after missing Week 7 with a back issue. He only saw two touches, which was his the lowest total since Week 2 where he had just one catch. Thompson was likely eased back into things last week, so the potential is there for more work this week in a much better matchup against the Saints.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay
Chris Thompson ran five times for 12 yards and added six receptions for 26 yards last week. He was targeted 10 times and continues to be a big threat in the passing game. He was forced to leave early in last week's game, and it was possible he was going to get a lot more work than he did. He's been the most productive back on the team this year, but it's on a smaller workload scale. He's a decent flex option in PPR leagues, but monitor his progress this week. He may even be worth a pickup if he's still on your wire and you need help at the position.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
Chris Thompson ran three times for 15 yards, but added six catches for 33 yards on seven targets. He looks to be the pass-catching option out of the backfield, which gives him some PPR league value. He's also running the ball at a 7.71 yard per carry clip, but Thompson ranks third among the Redskin backs and isn't all that great of a standard league option.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Atlanta

Chris Thompson was probably the team's most productive back last week in what looks like a three-headed running attack for Washington. Thompson rushed six times for 53 yards and added two catches for 24 yards.

Alfred Morris came on later in the game and busted off some big runs, but owners of any of Thompson, Morris or Matt Jones are probably left more confused about the running situation than they were coming into Week 4. It's a great matchup this week as the Falcons are just 32nd in allowing fantasy points to RBs. But this is a dicey situation and probably one to stay away from until we learn a little more.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 - Thompson vs. Dallas
After getting six touches in Week 15, including a reception going for a TD, many thought Thompson may be a bigger factor in Week 16. However, he wasn't, catching just three balls for five yards. The coaches talked up Thompson heading into Week 16 but it didn't turn into more work. Fullback Darrel Young scored two short TDs and Alfred Morris had 83 yards rushing and another TD. Thompson will be a risky play again in Week 17 even in a good matchup.

WAS RB Chris Thompson - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 - Thompson vs. Philly
Chris Thompson saw his first action of the season with Roy Helu out. Thompson ran three times for 12 yards and caught three balls for 22 yards and a TD. Skins HC Jay Gruden came away impressed with Thompson and there were news items in the offseaosn about how Thompson was going to make the team ahead of Helu until injuries kept him off the field. So now Thompson will likely get some more looks as the Skins plan for 2015. Thompson isn't a safe fantasy option even after getting six touches last week in his first game, but is certainly a guy to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.
