TB RB Charles Sims - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Atlanta

Charles Sims is gaining plenty of touches as the weeks go on. In Tampa's last game, he finished with 10 carries for 49 yards and had two receptions for 17 yards. It wasn't a breakout performance, but it's nice to see him continue to have a role in this offense.

Sims may be called upon in the passing game more often, especially if Vincent Jackson is forced to sit out as expected. With Jackson and Louis Murphy (and possibly Austin Seferian Jenkins) out, the team needs a reliable receiver. Sims is third on the team in targets (22) and he faces a Falcons team that has allowed the most receptions to running backs this season. Sims could be an interesting play this week and should be viewed as a solid flex play.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Washington
Charles Sims has worked himself into a solid role with Tampa Bay. He scored a touchdown in Weeks 3 and 4 and in Week 5, he finished with 136 total yards on 16 touches. He's starting to become someone to consider starting every week, although he still has some risk involved considering he's the backup to Doug Martin. At this point we'd view Sims as a low-end RB2 in PPR formats and a RB3 or flex play in standard leagues.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Jacksonville
Charles Sims has started to develop a role in Tampa Bay. He now has a touchdown reception in back-to-back weeks, placing him on the fantasy radar. He's only averaging 48 total yards per game, so if he doesn't find the end zone, he's not nearly as valuable. He gets a boost in PPR formats considering he has at least two receptions every game. Sims is a situational back and should be viewed as a low-end RB3 in standard and a regular RB3 in PPR formats.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Carolina

Charles Sims only had eight touches in Week 3, but he was able to find the end zone with one of them. He ran six times for 11 yards, but his biggest impact came from catching the ball as he had two receptions for 41 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown.

Overall, Sims isn't valuable enough to warrant a start in fantasy. He might have a few games where he has success, but guessing those will be difficult. You're better off just letting him be.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Houston
Charles SIms had an increased role in Week 2 as he finished with 11 touches for 52 yards. It's not a bad effort, it's just not a big enough effort to be a solid option every week in fantasy. Sims has a slight impact in PPR formats, especially considering he's third on the team in targets (8), but for now he's best to be avoided.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. New Orleans
Charles Sims had seven touches (five carries, two receptions) for 35 yards in Week 1. He has a clear backup role to Doug Martin, although he appears to be a fixture in the passing game. Sims had five targets in Week 1, which was third on the team. For now, however, we don't see Sims as a strong play.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tennessee
Doug Martin will be the main guy to own in Tampa Bay, but don't sleep on Charles Sims. The second-year player is expected to have a role in the offense this season. His receiving skills are better than Martin's, so he should be valuable in the passing game. At this point, however, Sims isn't worth a start in fantasy leagues.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Charles Sims - Week 17 vs. New Orleans

Charles Sims hasn't accomplished much on the ground this season. Last week he finished his second game with negative rushing yards. He is a factor in the passing game, however. He's finished with at least 30 receiving yards in three of his last four games.

This week he gets a favorable matchup against the Saints. New Orleans has allowed the most receiving yards to backs this season. Since that's where Sims does most of his damage, he could finish with a decent game.

He can be viewed as a desperation RB3 or flex play this week.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Charles Sims - Week 16 vs. Green Bay

Charles Sims finished with 10 touches for 79 yards last week against Carolina. it was his best game of the season. Even though he had a lot of production, it's clear Doug Martin is the starter in Tampa Bay.

This week Sims gets a tough matchup against Green Bay. The good news for Sims is he's mostly used in passing situations. If the Bucs get down early to the Packers they may look his way, leading to a decent PPR outing.

Having said that, we haven't seen a whole lot out of Sims this season so there's no real reason to trust him. He's a low-end RB3 at best.

TB RB Charles Sims - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Charles Sims - Week 15 vs. Carolina Panthers

Charles Sims had a hard time moving forward last week against Detroit. He had five carries (as many as Doug Martin) for -4 yards. He did add 24 yards on a reception, but overall it was a terrible game.

Sims' role is starting to be more defined with Martin back in the lineup. He's carried the ball 6, 5 and 5 times in the last three games, respectively. He's not worth a play this week against Carolina.
