CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Tampa Bay

Cam Newton had a rough game against the Falcons last week in the Panthers’ first loss of the season. He had only 142 yards passing, but added 46 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He now has eight rushing touchdowns this year, and remains an elite fantasy option week-to-week.

In the season finale, Newton will face a Bucs defense that ranks 17th in the league in passing yards allowed, and are tied for 25th in the league in touchdown passes given up with 29 on the season. The Panthers will be playing for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and should be ready to go against their division foes. Cam is a must start this week in all formats and should rebound after a tough outing last week.

Week 16 vs. Atlanta

Cam Newton had another monster game against the Giants last week, throwing for 340 yards and five touchdowns! He also added 100 yards rushing and just straight up dominated most fantasy leagues in a narrow victory over the Giants that extended the Panthers, undefeated record to 14-0. Cam is now second only to Tom Brady in passing touchdowns this season with 33.

This week, Cam will face a reeling Falcons team that he destroyed just a couple of weeks ago. In that matchup, he had 265 yards and three touchdowns. There’s no reason to think the Panthers won’t once again move the ball effectively against Atlanta, and with 18 touchdown passes in the last five weeks, Cam Newton is a must start in all league formats.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Giants

Cam Newton had another great game against the Falcons last week, throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns and not turning the ball over all game. The Panthers shutout the division rival Falcons and Cam extended the Panthers undefeated season to 13 games.

This week, Cam should have another fantastic game against the Giants. New York is dead last in the league in passing yards allowed and it’s not even close. Few quarterbacks are as hot as Cam Newton is right now, and he’s even getting MVP talk. He should be considered a top fantasy option this week and should be started in all leagues.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta

Cam Newton had another big day against the Saints last week in what turned out to be a shootout. He threw for 331 yards and five touchdown passes with only one pick. As he often does, he also added 49 yards rushing, bringing his total on the season to 476 yards on the ground. Cam is playing lights out football during the Panthers currently undefeated season.

This week, Cam faces a tough Atlanta pass defense that has played much better under new head coach Dan Quinn this year, but that shouldn’t affect his ability to put up fantasy points too much. Atlanta has allowed 15 rushing touchdowns this season, and Cam tends to find his way around the goal line. He’s a must start each week while he continues his assault on opposing defenses, and is our top fantasy option this week at quarterback.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New Orleans

Cam Newton had only 183 yards passing last week in a convincing victory over the Dallas Cowboys, but he added 45 yards and a touchdown on the ground and ended up with a decent fantasy outing against a tough defense. Cam is playing the best ball of his career and is a huge reason why the Panthers remain undefeated as we enter Week 13 of the regular season.

This week, Cam gets a fantastic matchup against the division rival New Orleans Saints. The Saints have given up the second most passing yards to opposing offenses in the league this year, and they rank dead last in passing touchdowns allowed with 30. Cam should be started in all leagues across the board as he attempts to continue his hot streak against a struggling Saints defense.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Dallas

Cam Newton was fantastic last week against Washington. He threw for 246 yards and five touchdown passes as the Panthers dominated the game and advanced to a 10-0 record on the season. Cam is having his best season as a pro and is even starting to look more comfortable with his subpar receiving corps.

This week, Cam will have a harder time against a pretty good Dallas defense, but he should still be a solid fantasy option in all leagues. While Dallas is top-10 in the league in passing yards allowed this season, they are allowing a very pedestrian 22.8 points per game to opposing teams. Because Cam finds the end zone so frequently running the ball, his fantasy potential isn’t always limited to what the pass defense allows. Fantasy owners should keep using Cam this week, as he should be in for a nice Thanksgiving game.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Washington

Cam Newton had only 217 yards passing last week in a victory over the Titans, but he threw for a touchdown and he added 23 yards and a touchdown rushing to his totals, turning in a decent overall fantasy day. Newton is playing the best ball of his career and has the Panthers undefeated through nine games this season, despite a lack of consistent receivers and a lack of a solid offensive line.

This week, Cam has a great matchup against Washington. Washington has been middle of the road against the pass this year, but have been horrendous against the run. Expect Cam to find ways to score fantasy points through the air and on the ground again this week and to be one of the best fantasy options. We have him as a top-5 starter this week and he should be active in all leagues.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee

Cam Newton had a great game last week against the Packers to keep the Panthers undefeated. He finished with 297 yards passing and three touchdown passes, along with 57 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Newton is playing some of the best football of his career and he has the NFC-leading Panthers gearing up toward the postseason.

This week, Newton will face a Titans defense that gave up a ton of points to the Saints last week and are in kind of a transitional period with an interim head coach in place. Cam should have another good game and his production on the ground has made him one of the most reliable QB’s in fantasy this year. He should be active in all leagues.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Green Bay

Cam Newton had 248 yards, a pair of touchdowns and a pick in an overtime victory over the Colts on Monday night. He also added 41 yards on 10 carries, adding fantasy value to his game. He led the team to two important overtime drives to secure the win, and late game heroics are starting to become a regular occurrence for him.

Green Bay is middle of the road against opposing passers this season in terms of yards given up, but they rank in the upper third of teams with just seven passing touchdowns allowed and nine interceptions. Cam may have a turnover or two, but his running and playmaking should make him an excellent fantasy option all the same against a team that will likely force the Panthers to throw the ball. We have him as a borderline top-5 option and he should be active in all leagues.

Thursday, November 5, 2015 - 10:49pm
CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Indianapolis

Cam Newton played better than his stat line looked last week. In a convincing victory over the Eagles, Cam threw for 197 yards and a touchdown and ran for 20 more yards and another touchdown. Unfortunately, he also threw three picks. However, two of those picks were pretty fluky and weren’t really indicative for how he’s been playing this season.

This week, Cam should bounce back against a Colts defense that has given up a ton of passing yards this year. Indianapolis ranks 30th in the league in passing yards allowed this season, and while they have forced 12 interceptions this year, they should be an excellent matchup for Cam Newton and the Panthers. We have Newton right around our top-5 this week and he should be active in all leagues.
