CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Cam Newton had a nice game against the Lions last week, throwing for 357 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw an interception and briefly left the game due to an ankle injury off an illegal hit that wasn’t called. The Panthers have now lost two games in a row, and Newton has only run the ball four times for 12 yards in the past two outings.

This week, our rankings have Newton set to bounce back, despite facing a tough Seattle defense that has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. Newton doesn’t have the best track record statistically against the Seahawks, but his ability to improvise on the run and the fact that two of the top fantasy quarterbacks are on byes this week makes him a must-start regardless of matchup.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit Lions

Cam Newton had a quiet day against the Steelers last week, throwing for only 193 yards, two touchdowns and a pick in a lopsided defeat. He added only 10 yards on two rushing attempts, a season-low, and was sacked five times. Cam is still a steady option week-to-week as a dual-threat quarterback, and fantasy owners shouldn’t be worried about his bad Thursday night game.

This week, Cam should rebound against the Lions. Detroit was absolutely torched by Mitch Trubisky last week to the tune of 355 yards and four touchdowns, including one on the ground. Expect a bounce-back game, and Cam should be active in all league formats.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Cam Newton had a good enough game against the Buccaneers last week, throwing for 247 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He added 33 yards on the ground and he completed an efficient 76 percent of his passes in a key division victory for the Panthers.

This week, Newton will face a Steelers defense that has given up the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, and has only forced five interceptions. With a potent Pittsburgh offense likely keeping the Panthers from mounting an early, commanding lead, Newton should be in for an active and successful fantasy day. He should be active in all leagues.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Cam Newton had a great game against a tough Ravens defense last week, putting up 219 yards and two touchdowns passing, while adding 52 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Newton now has 17 total touchdowns, including four on the ground, putting him on pace for 38.9 this season.

This week, Newton should be dynamite against a vulnerable Buccaneers defense that has been torched all season. They have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, including a league-high 20 touchdown passes to the position. Tampa Bay’s defense has forced only one interception all year, and Newton should be in for a great game. We have him as an elite option this week, and he should be active in all formats.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Cam Newton had a decent fantasy outing against the Eagles last week, throwing for 269 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in a thrilling comeback victory. He also added 49 yards on the ground, supplementing his passing totals as he often does. Newton’s versatility and ability as a playmaker are what makes him such a valuable fantasy option week-to-week.

This week, Newton will have his hands full with the Ravens defense. Only the Seahawks are allowing fewer fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this year. While his versatility makes him worth starting every game, temper your expectations in a tough matchup against a well-coached defense. We have him just outside our top 10 this week.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Philadelphia Eagles

Cam Newton had a modest day in a loss to the Redskins last week, throwing for 275 yards, a pair of touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 43 yards. Newton is on pace for 38.4 total touchdowns on the season, and he’s averaging 41.6 rushing yards per game. That kind of versatility and production make him a viable option each and every week.

Against the Eagles this week, Newton will face a defense that has been relatively effective at limited opposing passers this year, aside from a shot of FitzMagic in Week 2. While the matchup won’t be easy and Newton may face pressure all game, his ability to make things happen on the run and while under duress make him a must-start regardless of the matchup. We have him inside our top-ten this week and he should be active in all leagues.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Washington Redskins

Cam Newton had an off game against the Giants, throwing two interceptions and gaining only 29 yards on eight rushing attempts. He did throw for 237 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but it was ultimately a disappointing day for fantasy owners counting on Newton.

This week, Cam will face a Washington team that just gave up big numbers to Drew Brees and the Saints. Cam should continue to be the primary cog that moves the Panthers offense, and he’s a must-start every week, regardless of matchup.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants

Cam Newton had only 150 yards passing against the Bengals in Week 3 before the bye, but he threw for a two touchdowns and added 36 yards and another pair of touchdowns on the ground. Newton’s ability to supplement his passing totals with production on the ground is what makes him such an excellent fantasy option, and he’s been effective this season using his cupboard of new weapons. He’s completed five touchdown passes to five different receivers in route to a 2-1 record.

This week, Cam should be in your lineup against the Giants. While New York has been above average against the pass on defense this year, they’ve allowed a league-high 150 rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks. Cam is a must-start each week regardless of matchup, and expect another solid performance from the versatile veteran.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Despite a crushing defeat, Cam Newton put up strong numbers last week against the Falcons. He threw for 335 yards, three touchdowns and an interception, while adding 42 yards on the ground. Newton has the potential to put up big numbers in any given week and it was good to see him throwing downfield. Four receivers had plays over 20 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown strike to rookie D.J. Moore.

This week, Newton will go up against a Bengals defense that has allowed 695 passing yards through the first two games of the season, though that was largely aided by Joe Flacco' garbage-time statistics last week after getting down early. Newton should once again be active with both his arm and his legs, and he’s a must-start every week due to his consistently high upside.

CAR QB Cam Newton - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Atlanta Falcons

As he so often does, Cam Newton salvaged an underwhelming passing performance against the Cowboys last week with 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Even though he only threw for 161 yards, it was still a decent enough outing for the veteran. Newton should continue to be a high-floor option due to his versatility throughout the season.

This week, Cam will face a Falcons defense that kept Nick Foles in check last week but lost two of their top defenders in safety Keanu Neal and middle linebacker Deion Jones in the process. Newton should thrive, even on the road, and is a top-10 option in all league formats.
