IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New England

Andrew Luck has sat out the last two games with a shoulder injury, but he appears to be ready to play this week against the Patriots. He's had a longer week to heal and has been a full participant in practice so far.

Prior to Luck's injury, the Colts quarterback was struggling. He has more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (5) on the season and hasn't hit the 300-yard passing mark. To be fair, 300 yards is a tough mark to clear, but Luck had been finishing with 300 yards like it was nothing in 2014. He gets a modest matchup this week against the Patriots and should be viewed as a QB1.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Houston
Andrew Luck sat out Week 4 with a shoulder injury, but early indications say he’ll return in Week 5 for Thursday night. He’ll try and bounce back from his rough start in a favorable matchup against Houston. The Texans haven’t been strong against the pass as they’re allowing an average of 230-plus yards per game. Luck, however, hasn’t been the No. 1 projected quarterback people thought he’d be. He’s thrown seven interceptions through three games with five touchdowns. He hasn’t been awful, but he’s definitely not lived up to expectations. His ceiling makes him a QB1 play this week, but his early struggles, combined with his injury, make him somewhat of a risky play.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Jacksonville

Andrew Luck has been surprisingly bad so far this season (for his standards). He has more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (5) and still hasn't had a 300-yard game. It's also worth noting Luck has been limited in practice this week and has raised some concerns over his Week 4 availability. The Colts QB has an injury to his throwing shoulder and has needed rest.

Assuming he's ready to go, he'll draw a favorable matchup this week against the Jaguars. Jacksonville has allowed over 300 passing yards in back-to-back weeks to Ryan Tannehill and Tom Brady. Luck should be viewed as a QB1.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Tennessee

Andrew Luck was seen as the No. 1 fantasy QB heading into the season, but he has been far from that through his first two games. He has fewer points than Ryan Mallett, who didn't even start Week 1 for his team this season. Luck's thrown three touchdowns and five interceptions in two games and has also lost a fumble. Having said all of that, Luck is still a top fantasy option every week. He may not be the No. 1 guy right now, but we're only two games into this season.

The Colts QB could find his stride against the Titans in Week 3, although Tennessee has been somewhat tough on quarterbacks so far. QBs are averaging less than 200 yards per game against the Titans. Still, Luck should be seen as a QB1 this week, despite his early struggles.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. New York Jets
Andrew Luck had an off game in Week 1, but an off game for Andrew Luck is the ceiling for some poorer quarterbacks. He still finished with 243 yards and two touchdowns, although he did throw two interceptions.

This week Luck faces a Jets defense that has undergone some changes — most notably the addition of CB Darrelle Revis. Luck will also likely be without T.Y. Hilton, although he has enough weapons to overcome that. Expect another mild game from Luck in Week 2. His ceiling is high enough to make him a must-start option, but don't expect a 300-yard, 3-touchdown performance.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Buffalo
Andrew Luck has a tough matchup out of the gates against Buffalo, but don't let that scare you. The Colts QB is easily one of the elite fantasy options every single week. If you selected Luck in your fantasy drafts, there's no way you're sitting him in Week 1. Luck has a bunch of new toys to throw to including veteran WR Andre Johnson, rookie WR Phillip Dorsett and even running back Frank Gore. He'll be sure to put up some big numbers opening weekend and is a must-start option.

IND QB Andrew Luck - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
There is a lot to like about Andrew Luck this season. He’s coming off of a monster 4,761-yard, 40 touchdown season and doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down any time soon. Luck has an incredible group of wideouts that includes T.Y. Hilton, Andre Johnson, Donte Moncrief and even rookie Phillip Dorsett. He’ll have plenty of chances to throw to these guys as well, considering he finished with the third highest amount of pass attempts last season. Last season Luck finished as the No. 2 quarterback in fantasy, and the team has only gotten better.

Fantasy Downside
There’s not a lot of downside to Luck this season, but one fear is his offensive line. There was a lot of inconsistency last season amongst the group, but Luck was able to avoid getting sacked due his mobility. But that doesn’t always mean he avoided getting hit. The Colts had 109 hits on their quarterback last season, which ranks as the third most. Luck started all 16 games and absorbed most of those blows. He’s a tough player, but getting hit consistently could lead to an injury.

Bottom Line
Luck can easily be fantasy’s top quarterback this season. He’s just so talented when it comes to passing, and even rushing, and he has a lot of weapons around him. He should definitely be considered as one of the best at his position this season.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 20, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Andrew Luck - Week 20 vs. New England

So far in the playoffs Andrew Luck hasn't had a monster game. In the first matchup he threw for 376 yards, which was nice, but only finished with one touchdown. In a tougher matchup last week he threw for 265 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

This week Luck gets another tough assignment against the Patriots. Joe Flacco had success last week throwing four touchdowns, but make no mistake the Patriots' defense has great players in the secondary. When Luck faced the Pats earlier this season he threw for 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

All four quarterbacks available this week are talented and can put up points. Luck has been money all season, so he's not a bad option.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 19, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Andrew Luck - Week 19 vs. Denver

Andrew Luck has proven he can play well in the postseason. He's averaging 383 yards per game in his last three contests. He only had one touchdown last week, which is a bit of a disappointment, but he was still very effective.

He gets a favorable matchup this week against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have a good defense, but because teams end up passing a lot against them they sometimes allow big performances. When Luck faced Denver back in Week 1 he threw for 370 yards and scored three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).

Luck should be viewed as one of the best options this week.

IND QB Andrew Luck - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Andrew Luck - Wild Card vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Andrew Luck's level of play has gone down a bit in recent weeks. We can't take much away from his Week 17 outing considering the Colts weren't giving it their all. But in Week 16 Luck had his worst game of the season. And Week 15 was his second-worst performance.

It's hard to overlook all of the good Luck has done this season, though. He finished with over 4,700 yards and 40 touchdowns.

In the Wild Card he faces a Bengals team that has been strong against quarterbacks most of the season, but recently have faltered. In three of the last four games the Bengals have allowed over 310 passing yards. They also gave up at least two passing touchdowns in each of those games.

Luck also performed well against the Bengals when he faced them in Week 7. He threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns. There aren't a lot of elite options at quarterback in the first round of the playoffs. Luck is definitely one of those options. He's a great play in the first round of the playoffs.
