WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 - Morris vs. Indy

Alfred Morris had his best fantasy game last week in a tough matchup against the 49ers. Morris ran for 125 yards and a TD against the top ranked team in allowing fantasy points to RBs. It was shades of the Alfred Morris we knew from last year when matchups didn't matter a whole lot and he put up consistent numbers just about every week.

This week, Morris gets Indy which on paper is a much easier matchup. Still, the Skins defense is going to have to keep this game close against Andrew Luck and company. With Colt McCoy back under center, Washington will likely try to establish the run with Morris, but it will really come down to whether the defense keeps it close. Morris is still a solid RB2 play.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 - Morris vs. San Francisco

Alfred Morris had a pretty good game for fantasy owners last week, all things considered. He finished with 20 carries for 96 yards and added two receptions for 36 yards. He's cracked the 90-yard mark back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Unfortunately, Morris and owners get a very tough matchup Week 12 on the road in San Francisco. The Niners defense ranks first in allowing fantasy points to RBs, so Morris falls down our rankings into the lower-end RB2 range this week. He's probably still a guy to put in your lineup based on workload, but it could be a long day for the Washington offense.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 - Morris vs. Tampa Bay

Alfred Morris has put together two pretty solid fantasy weeks in a row now. He's averaged about 18 carries and over 80 yards the last two games with a total of three TDs in the same span, including two last week.

The return of QB Robert Griffin III should help Morris the rest of the way, and Morris climbs back into our RB1 list with a top-ten ranking this week. The Bucs are 15th in allowing fantasy points to RBs, but Morris is on a bit of a hot streak so he's again shaping up to be a good play in a game Washington is likely to be leading. Outside of next week against the 49ers, his matchups, for the most part, are pretty favorable.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 - Morris vs. Minnesota
Alfred Morris put up respectable fantasy numbers for the first time since Week 4. He carried 18 times for 73 yards and a TD. It was also his first TD since Week 4 and just his fourth of the season.

Morris gets a nice matchup this week against a Vikes defense that ranks just 27th in allowing fantasy points to RBs. However, we see Morris as just a middle of the road RB2 in 10-team leagues, coming in ranked 16th on our list this week. It's mostly been a struggle for Morris and the running game this year, so it's tough to count on him, but it's a good enough matchup after a nice performance against a tough Dallas defense last week that the hope is Morris can get owners RB2 numbers.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 - Morris vs. Dallas
It was another unimpressive fantasy performance from the usually consistent Alfred Morris. He carried 18 times for just 54 yards.

Morris has gone three weeks without a TD but his 18 carries is the most since Week 3. Morris and the running game have come under fire a bit by HC Jay Gruden, but as of now there's no plan to put Roy Helu ahead of him despite Helu's better yards per carry in limited work. This week doesn't get much easier as the Cowboys are ranked eight in allowing fantasy points to RBs.

Unless Robert Griffin III makes a miracle start, Colt McCoy will be under center and it could give the Cowboys more reason to focus on stopping the run. Morris is just a low-end RB2 this week and has been a risky play since Week 3. He does get a couple of more friendly matchups Weeks 9 and 11 between the Week 10 bye and there's a good chance RGIII is under center by then so there is some hope for owners.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 - Morris vs. Tennessee
Alfred Morris' struggles continued last week with 13 carries for 41 yards. He did add his fifth catch of the season for 14 yards.

It's been back-to-back-to-back weeks of 12- or 13-carry games for Morris. He had a TD back in Week 4 to help owners, but outside of that it's been very unMorris-like numbers, especially the last two weeks. In his defense, he's in a brutal stretch of games against some of the league's top defenses in terms of allowing fantasy points to RBs. And this week's mathup is no better as the Titans are eighth in that department. Maybe it's time to think about another option until the schedule eases up a bit, which should be Week 9 vs. Minnesota.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 - Morris vs. Arizona
It was a disappointing week for Morris owners as he carried just 13 times for 29 yards. It was a tough matchup going in, but Morris has been pretty consistent no matter what the matchup had been throughout his careers.

Seattle got off to fast start though and Washington never really had a chance to get the run game going which hurt Morris in the end. This week's matchup isn't much better for Morris. The Cardinals are ranked sixth in allowing fantasy points to RBs so it could be another tough go for Morris and his owners. We rank him as a low-end RB2 coming in at 19th.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 - Morris vs. Seattle
While the Washington passing game struggled last week, Alfred Morris was his consistent self running the ball. He only rushed 12 times but managed 63 yards and a TD to help secure a pretty solid fantasy start. And as an added bonus, caught three balls for 27 yards, his first catches of the season.

This week's matchup isn't a great one against Seattle, which is ranked 16th in allowing fantasy points to RBs. Seattle is much tougher against fantasy QBs and WRs so Morris may not be that bad of a play this week as long as the Skins can keep this game close. We rank him 18th, which low-end RB2, but good enough that you probably need to keep him in your lineup.

WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 - Morris vs. NY Giants

Morris ran 23 times for 77 yards last week and for the third straight week wasn't involved in the passing game with no targets.

Morris is getting the work but was a bit bottled up against the Eagles, rushing for just 3.35 yards a carry - a low this season. Washington found it could move the ball through the air with more success and had to play from behind in the second half. Still, Morris was involved in 65% of the snaps, a season high.

This week he comes in 9th on our RB list, again making him a low-end RB1 in typical leagues. The Giants rank 15th in allowing fantasy points to RBs, but this contest is at home game on Thursday night, so Morris again is a real solid play, especially in standard leagues. He continues to get consistent carries.

Thursday, September 25, 2014 - 12:22pm
WAS RB Alfred Morris - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 - Morris vs. Philadelphia
Alfred Morris continued his fantasy consistency last week against the Jags running 22 times for 85 yards and two TDs. Once again, he didn't catch a pass.

This week's matchup is at Philly and with Kirk Cousins now the QB it's possible the Skins turn to Morris a few more times to run the ball. The Eagles are 10th in allowing fantasy points to RBs, and normally pretty solid against the run, but they were gashed against Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw on Monday night this past week at Indy.

This is a potentially good sign for Morris owners. He comes in ranked 7th this week on our QB list and is easily a RB1 play for your lineup. This is a stretch of four pretty tough matchups on paper, though, as Morris plays the Giants (9th), Seahawks (6th) and Cardinals (1st) the next three weeks.
