One of my leagues is transitioning from ppr to pp first down. Which would be more useful for rankings, in this instance? PPR makes sense, since on average you are likely to get more first downs, when you get more touches. Does this make RBs more valuable than WRs? Or am I just over thinking it?

I realize that this is a hard stat to predict. But it should probably be added to the full impact section, and be tracked.

This might already be somewhere, and I am just too ignorant to find it. If so, could someone provide a link? I'm sorry for wasting time if that is the case.

I'm not sure if it is, I can try to find out for you... Until then, I would say that all your conclusions make a lot of sense to try and get a feel for making the best draft decisions. I would agree about RBs getting a bump in value, esp. the stud RBs who get the ball in any situations. I don't think the short yardage guys would be worth grabbing but the three-down backs, I would think, become a little more valuable.

Without looking at stats, I would think a guy like Edelman or TEs in general get a bump in value, too - basically anyone who is a team's more dependable receiver in the eyes of a QB. I would think Brady looks for Gronk or Edelman in passing situations when a first down is needed, for example.
