Scouting report

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Detroit
With Miles Sanders out, Kenneth Gainwell moves into the starting lineup for the Eagles. He had already been getting a decent amount of snaps but that number will go up. The negative is the way Philly has used their running backs. Even in the passing game, they have been used less than the previous coaching staff who relied on them and the tight ends.

Gainwell will face the Lions who are ranked 31st in aFPA to running backs. The matchup is great but how much will he get the ball.

We are estimating 12-15 touches for Gainwell which should produce around 65-70 yards. That's good enough for a start in your lineup as a high-end RB3 or flex.

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas
Kenneth Gainwell has had three touches over the past two games. The Eagles need to get him more involved in the offense as he can be a good change of pace to starter Miles Sanders.

The Raiders are up next and are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs. Even with the favorable matchup, we want to see Gainwell get more touches, For now, keep him on the bench.

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay
Kenneth Gainwell had only three touches for 24 yards last week after having his best fantasy outing the previous week, It seems the Eagles aren't using their running backs as they have in the past and that is hurting Gainwell's value.

The matchup this week isn't easy as Tampa Bay is ranked 8th in aFPA to running backs. We expect the Eagles to use Gainwell more moving forward but his value this week puts him just on the outside of that RB3 ranking. Keep Gainwell on the bench for Week 6.

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Carolina
The Eagles have become pass-happy which helps Kenneth Gainwell. He had six receptions for 58 yards. He had only three carries so that's won't be where his value is. But Gainwell actually did have better fantasy numbers than starter Miles Sanders.

It's a tough matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Gainwell is someone who should be your radar in PPR leagues but still should be on the bench for Week .5

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Kansas City
Only four touches and three were in the passing game for Kenneth Gainwell. The good news is he is still is the No. 1 backup to Miles Sanders. His snaps have been consistent so far as he has been on the field for 1/3 of the Eagles snaps on offense.

Kansas City is the next opponent and the Chiefs are average against the run. We expect Gainwell to get more touches, but the playing time should stay the same which means he continues to be depth for your bench.

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas
Kenneth Gainwell has become the clear No. 2 running back in Philly and is averaging almost 10 touches per game. The Eagles love him in the passing game and they have confidence he can handle anything they give the rookie.

Even with a good matchup against a below-average Dallas defense, Gainwell has fantasy value as depth but should not be in your starting lineup quite yet. He is definitely a bench player for Week 3.

PHI RB Kenneth Gainwell - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. San Francisco
The fifth-round draft pick made his NFL debut and was serviceable in the Eagles offense, Gainwell carried the ball nine times and added two receptions for a total of 43 yards. Where his real value came was that he scored a rushing touchdown.

Philly faces a very good San Francisco defense but the game is at home. This will be a true test for the Eagles' offense and will give us a better idea of where they stand.

Gainwell is a bench player at this point but the usage is encouraging. This might be a good pickup if you are looking for a running back on your bench or if you have Miles Sanders to be his collar.
