Scouting report

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at San Francisco 49ers
Tyler Boyd has at least seven targets in every game, but the issue has been production with 52 yards being his high mark in receiving yards. He has been effective in PPR leagues averaging almost six catches per game.

Boyd faces the Niners this Sunday and with injuries at tight end, the Bengals send out plenty of three receivers sets. However, even with a favorable matchup against San Francisco, keep Boyd on the bench for Week 8.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Seattle Seahawks
With Tee Higgins out last week, you might expect Tyler Boyd to get more balls his way, but it was basically the same as usual for the veteran receiver. The fact that his teammate Ja'Marr Chase as basically unstoppable was one reason why.

Even though it's a good matchup this week against Seattle and Higgins is still probably out, we don't expect numbers good enough to warrant playing time on your roster. Keep Boyd on the bench.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Arizona Cardinals
With Tee Higgins out, Tyler Boyd moves up the wide receiver rankings. He has been averaging eight touches per game over the last three weeks WITH Higgins in the lineup so we expect that the production will be higher.

Boyd faces the Cardinals who are ranked 15th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Bengals offense has been struggling in general so there is some lack of confidence in all the skill players.

Start Boyd as a low-end WR or Flex only. Higgins being out is the key here as Boyd should pick up the slack and will have some production this Sunday.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at New England Patriots
After going without a catch two weeks ago, Tyler Boyd was back on the fantasy radar last week with five receptions for 35 yards. He also scored his fourth touchdown of the season. Because the Bengals' offense is so good, he is capable of being the top receiver for Cincy on any given game so he is someone to watch.

This is a tough matchup this week in New England so Boyd should remain on your bench. He doesn't rank high enough to help your fantasy team in Week 16.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Cleveland Browns
Tyler Boyd had five receptions for 60 yards last week which was impressive considering Ja'Marr Chase was back in the lineup. These are the type of games Boyd is capable of and it keeps him fantasy relevant.

Boyd faces the Browns who are ranked 7th in aFPA to wide receivers. In the first meeting with Cleveland, he had three receptions for 38 yards but added a touchdown.

Start Boyd as a low-end WR3 or Flex for Week 14. With all the byes weeks, he is a good play to earn enough points to help your team.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
With Ja'Marr Chase out, you would think Tyler Boyd would put up some numbers, but he has been fairly quiet, like last week with two receptions for 14 yards. Chase is due to come back this week, so the chances of Boyd putting up meaningful fantasy numbers diminishes.

Boyd has a good matchup against Kansas City this Sunday, but the rest of the facts dictate keeping him on the bench for Week 13.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Tennessee Titans
Tyler Boyd was targeted seven times on Sunday but only had two receptions for 42 yards. The Bengals had a good day throwing the ball, but Boyd and QB Joe Burrow just weren't on the same page.

Boyd will face the Titans who are ranked 31st in aFPA to wide receivers. With the return of Ja'Marr Chase expected, Boyd's fantasy stock takes a step back as he goes back to the No. 3 receiver role.

Keep Boyd on the bench for Week 12 despite the favorable matchup. Only if Chase can't go should Boyd be in your lineup.
