Scouting report

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Detroit Lions

Trey Burton finished with a big fat zero last week as his terrible season continues. Burton has 84 total yards through his seven games so far in 2019. He's never had more than 20 yards in a game this season and has zero touchdowns all year. Avoid him in fantasy.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

Another week, another game where Trey Burton was barely involved in the offense. The tight end caught just one pass for 16 yards. He now has 84 yards through six games, which comes out to 14 yards per game. Unless you want minimal points from your tight end position this week, it's probably best to avoid Burton in fantasy.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Even in a game where the Bears throw the ball 54 times, Trey Burton couldn't get anything going. He finished with 11 yards off of two catches last week. He's finished with 20 receiving yards or less in every game so far. Unless something changes, continue to ignore Burton in fantasy.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. New Orleans Saints

Trey Burton has not had a strong start to 2019. His four starts have finished with stat lines of 2-5, 4-20, 2-16 and 3-16. He's averaging less than 15 yards per game and hasn't had five or more targets in any game this season. He's a weak option at tight end.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Oakland Raiders

Trey Burton's 2019 hasn't been great. After sitting out Week 1, Burton has posted totals of 2-5, 4-20 and 2-16. He gets a great matchup against the Raiders this week as Oakland is allowing an average of 15.8 fantasy points per game to the position. But it's hard to recommend a player who hasn't had more than 20 receiving yards in a single game. He's not a bad sleeper option if you're desperate, but there should be better players available.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Trey Burton saw four targets, and hauled them all in for 20 yards in Week 3. Burton now has 25 yards through two games, which would put him on pace for 187 total yards this season. We expect him to do more than that, but his start to the season isn't promising. Until he starts putting up some actual production, he'll remain a bad fantasy option.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Washington Redskins

After sitting out Week 1, Trey Burton returned to the lineup in Week 2. He didn't appear to be fully ready, however, as he played just 43% of the offensive snaps. He had three targets, catching two passes for only five yards. Burton was one of the best fantasy options at TE a year ago, but he's still recovering. Coach Matt Nagy said earlier this week "it’ll take a little bit of time" to get Burton to full playing status. So until that happens, he's best left on the bench.
