Scouting report

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10: Romo vs Jaguars

Obviously some good news for Cowboys' fans and Tony Romo owners. He is practicing in London which means he should play. The injured back is something he has been dealing with all season and the recent setback wasn't serious enough to keep him out long term. Still, keep an eye on the injury list Sunday morning since something could happen before kickoff.

The big question now is how effective will Romo be? Even if he plays, the back is still an issue and how much will it hamper him during the game?

The Cowboys face a Jaguars defense that is 12th in aFPA to quarterbacks. The injury, the long plane ride to London and the fact he was off a week play into his ranking this week. He is a solid QB2 for Week 10, which means there are better options to start. If you have one, keep Romo on the bench.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9: Romo vs Cardinals
The Cowboys left people scratching their heads as the offense struggled at home against the Redskins on Monday night. It was the first time since Week 2 Tony Romo did not have a multi-touchdown game and the health concerns are very prominent going into this week's game. He did not practice on Thursday so it could be a game-time call.

The Cardinals are ranked 15th in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. Overall, they have played very good defense so even if Romo plays, it's a neutral matchup for him. It probably would be best to play someone else if you have a better option for Week 9. Romo only rates a QB2 against Arizona.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8: Romo vs Redskins
Dallas continues to roll and Tony Romo continues to share in the team's success. He threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns last week and has looked good doing it despite the bad back.

You can't ask for a better matchup on Monday although Romo has been very average in his career against the Redskins (10-8 record; 24 TDs, 15 INTs). Washington is dead last in aFPA to quarterbacks in the NFL. Start Romo in all formats as a solid QB1 for Week 8.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7: Romo vs Giants
Tony Romo was very good last week in Seattle throwing two touchdowns without an interception, something that doesn't happen to many offenses in the great northwest. He has thrown multiple touchdowns for four straight games and is playing very well despite the lingering back issues.

Romo will face division rival New York who is 10th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It won't be easy for him since Romo has been very average against the Giants for his career (31 TDs; 18 INTs).

For Week 7, Romo rates a high-end QB2. There are better options, but it wouldn't be a terrible play if he is your best option.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6: Romo vs. Seahawks
Tony Romo had one of his best games statistically last week against Houston, with season highs in completions, attempts and yardage plus two touchdowns. We know Romo is capable of those type of games, but the success of the running game has made the Cowboys more run-oriented.

We might not see a repeat performance this week against the Seahawks defense. A tough matchup on the road in Seattle makes Romo only a low-end QB2 play this week.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5: Romo vs. Texans
Tony Romo finally broke through last week with a three touchdown performance against the Saints. He threw for 262 yards with zero picks. Should we expect this every week? Probably not. The running game for the Cowboys looks good, and even though that will help the passing game, it might limit the production of Romo.

It's a decent matchup for Dallas against the Texans. But it is probably better to look for other QB options because the Cowboys will have success running the football. Romo rates a QB2 for Week 5.

DAL QB Tony Romo - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4: Romo vs Saints
Tony Romo's numbers have been all over the board in 2014. He finally threw a multi-touchdown game and had a very high completion percentage, but he only threw 23 passes in the Cowboys win.

Romo will face the Saints at home on Sunday. New Orleans has not fared well against quarterbacks early this season, but which Tony Romo will we see?

He only rates a low-end No. 1 for Week 4 despite the good matchup. If you have another option consider it.
