SF WR Stevie Johnson - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Stevie Johnson Week 3 vs. Cardinals
Stevie Johnson has two receptions in each of the 49ers' first two games. San Francisco just doesn't throw the ball often enough for the No. 3 receiver to matter. He might get an extra catch or two with Vernon Davis hurting, but not enough to put into your lineup.

SF WR Stevie Johnson - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Stevie Johnson Week 2 vs Bears
There are only so many passes to go around in this offense and Johnson isn't going to get many as the No. 4 option in the pecking order. He won't help you this week.

SF WR Stevie Johnson - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Stevie Week 1 vs Cowboys
Stevie Johnson will serve as the No. 3 receiver in San Francisco, an offense that is predicated on the run. That's never good. Considering tight end Vernon Davis also has to get his share of looks, it won't add up to many for Johnson, barring Michael Crabtree not playing. If Crabtree sits with his calf injury, bump Johnson up to a flex option.

SF WR Stevie Johnson - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
A longtime starter in Buffalo, Stevie Johnson will likely settle into the No. 3 receiver role in San Francisco. Given Michael Crabtree's injury history, that could be significant.

Fantasy Downside
No. 3 in San Francisco's offense might not afford a ton of opportunities.

Bottom Line
With Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis around, there won't be a ton of opportunities for Johnson to shine, especially in a run-first offense. But an injury could change that significantly.
