NO K Shayne Graham - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2: Watson vs. Browns
Shayne Graham was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra point tries last week in the Saints' 37-34 loss to the Falcons. He's our No. 5 overall fantasy kicker for Week 2 against the Browns and should have plenty of scoring chances thanks to New Orleans' explosive offense.

NO K Shayne Graham - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1: Graham vs. Falcons
Shayne Graham was released on August but re-signed on September 2. Coach Sean Payton noted the reason that Graham was released at final cuts was because "we had to buy time with the IR." Graham was 6-of-8 for the Saints last season after replacing Garrett Hartley, and makes for a great fantasy option on Sunday in what should be a shootout. We currently rank Graham as our No. 2 fantasy kicker for Week 1.

K Graham Shayne - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Shayne Graham will kick inside a dome 10 times during the regular season and plays for one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. The Saints haven't finished lower than 12th in points since 2006, so scoring opportunities won't be an issue for Graham again this season.

Fantasy Downside
Graham missed from 45 and 48 yards out in the Saints' Divisional Round loss to the Seahawks last season and no longer has the leg to air it out routinely from 40-plus. The Saints usually don't have issues reaching pay dirt when they get into opposition territory so while racking up PATs won't be an issue, Graham's field goal opportunities may be somewhat limited.

Bottom Line
Graham continues to be money between 19-39 yards and even though he no longer possesses elite leg strength, he's going to have plenty of scoring opportunities thanks to the Saints' offense. He makes for a solid fantasy option.

Update: In a somewhat surprising move, the Saints released Shayne Graham while cutting their roster down to 53.
