Scouting report

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Jets
With the return of Cecil Shorts last Monday against the Bengals, Nate Washington’s numbers dropped off. On five targets, he collected just two catches for 32 yards, while Cecil caught three short passes. DeAndre Hopkins is the No. 1 WR and will continue to receive most of the looks from whomever is quarterbacking the Texans. Washington should only be started if you’re out of other options.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati
Taking advantage of some extra playing time with Cecil Shorts out, Nate Washington grabbed four passes for 74 yards and his third TD in two games two weeks ago versus Tennessee. Nate had been a decent WR3/flex start heading into the bye week, but he’ll be battling Shorts for targets and facing a Cincinnati team that has had plenty of time to prepare for the game on Monday. Temper your expectations for Washington this week.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tennessee
After missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury, Nate Washington returned with a vengeance last week in the blowout loss to the Dolphins. With the Miami secondary surrounding DeAndre Hopkins, Nate was targeted a team-high 16 times, resulting in nine grabs, 127 yards and his first two touchdowns with the Texans. Washington also benefitted from Cecil Shorts (hamstring) missing the contest. With Arian Foster gone for the season, look for Brian Hoyer and the passing attack to become more important. While he won’t post the big numbers you saw last week, Washington makes for a WR3/flex play against a Tennessee defense that is No. 2 versus the pass.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami
After missing the past two games with a hamstring injury, Nate Washington will be back against Miami. It's good timing for Nate, as fellow WR Cecil Shorts is out with his own hamstring problems. While DeAndre Hopkins is the clear No. 1 WR for the Texans, Washington should get a decent amount of looks from Brian Hoyer and could be a used as a spot start against a Dolphins defense allowing 379 total yards per game.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville
Nate Washington missed last week’s home contest versus the Colts due to a sore hamstring. He is questionable to be back on Sunday at Jacksonville and, if healthy, should be considered a WR3/flex play with Brian Hoyer at QB and a Jaguars D that is No. 21 against the pass.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
Nate Washington was not targeted before suffering a hamstring injury against the Falcons on Sunday. With the short week, there's a good chance he'll miss the game on Thursday night. Indianapolis has had problems versus the pass, so be sure to monitor Washington's status before game time.

HOU WR Nate Washington - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Atlanta
Ryan Mallett threw the ball 39 times in the win over Tampa Bay last Sunday, with nine of those passes going in the direction of Nate Washington. The veteran finished with four receptions for 42 yards, his lowest yardage total of the season. All three of the Houston WR touchdowns belong to DeAndre Hopkins, however. At Atlanta this week, Washington makes for at best a WR3/flex start.
