Scouting report

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Detroit Lions

Mike Wallace had 5 catches for only 48 yards last week against the Texans, but he was targeted a team-high 11 times. He has at least nine PPR fantasy points in three straight games and has been the most consistent receiving option in the Baltimore passing game.

That being said, the Baltimore passing game has been abysmal. Wallace still has upside this week against the Lions, however, Detroit is allowing 243 passing yards per game to opposing offenses and has a good enough offense that Baltimore will likely need to throw the ball to keep up. Wallace has low-end WR2 potential.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Houston Texans

Mike Wallace had 4 catches for 56 yards and a touchdown last week against the Packers. Wallace hasn’t been great this season, but he seems healthy after missing a week, and he’s now scored a touchdown in each of his past two starts. The Ravens will continue to feature both he and Jeremy Maclin outside, and Wallace still has speed to burn.

This week, Wallace has some upside against a Texans defense that gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to the wide receiver position this season. While it’s risky to trust anyone in the Baltimore offense, Wallace has some WR3 potential in a great matchup.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Green Bay Packers

Mike Wallace only had 19 yards against the Titans before the bye last week, but he caught 4-of-7 passes thrown his way and he scored a touchdown—his second of the season. Wallace has been banged up, but he remains a lethal weapon on the outside with speed that hasn’t degraded much after nine years in the league.

The Packers give up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers this year, so Wallace has some upside this week. He’s risky, but he seems to be healthy and is always a threat to make a big play. Fantasy owners should consider him a boom/bust prospect this week and use him as a viable desperation play in difficult matchups.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Miami Dolphins

Mike Wallace took a vicious hit last week against the Vikings and left early with a concussion. Even if he plays this week, it’s hard to imagine any of the Ravens wide receivers doing well with Joe Flacco in the midst of such a frustrating season. If he’s active, he has some potential against an inconsistent Miami team. They gave up 3 touchdown passes to the Jets last week, including 2 to the WR position. Wallace is probably too risky to trust in most leagues, however.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Chicago Bears

Mike Wallace only caught 3 passes last week against the Raiders, but he wound up with 133 yards and his second straight double-digit fantasy performance. Wallace is a boom-or-bust option in most weeks. With how shaky QB Joe Flacco has looked this season, it’s hard to trust him. Plus, the Bears plucky defense has been surprisingly average this year, and are allowing only 7.0 yards per pass attempt, 14th in the league.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Oakland Raiders

Mike Wallace had his first decent game of the season last week, catching 6 passes for 55 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers. Wallace may have been extra motivated against his former team, but he showed last season he could be a viable fantasy starter on occasion, making him worth adding in case the Ravens offense can get going. He’s too risky to start though, regardless of the matchup.

BAL WR Mike Wallace - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Cleveland Browns

Mike Wallace had a forgettable start to the season, catching only one pass for eight yards in a shutout victory over the Bengals. The Ravens only threw the ball 17 times, and no one on the team was targeted more than 4 times.

It’s hard to imagine the game against Cleveland this weekend being any closer. While Cleveland was dead last in passing touchdowns allowed last season, the Ravens will likely try to keep with a ground-and-pound strategy. Expect more production from Wallace than last week, but he’s still a fringe WR3 option right now.
