Scouting report

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 - Sanchez vs. Dallas

Mark Sanchez threw for just 96 yards last week but did have two TD passes to at least salvage decent fantasy numbers.

This week, Sanchez gets a rematch with Dallas. It's a prime time, Sunday night game at home and the Birds have performed very well in these types of games. Sanchez didn't have huge fantasy numbers a couple weeks ago against the Cowboys, but he was efficient and didn't turn the ball over. It's an overall good matchup too as the 'Boys rank just 26th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. I expect Sanchez to bounce back this week and he comes in ranked ninth on our QB list. It's tough to trust him after last week, but in terms of fantasy numbers, he's a pretty decent option to work with.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 - Sanchez vs. Seattle

Many feel last week Mark Sanchez had his best game of the year against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. While he didn't light it up from a fantasy standpoint, he was still solid. He threw for 217 yards and a TD while adding 28 rushing yards and another TD. He didn't turn the ball over for just the second time in five games since taking over for Nick Foles.

This week, he gets the Seahawks who rank second in allowing fantasy points to QBs. It's a tough game on paper and Sanchez falls down our list to 16th. The game is a home game for the Eagles so that will help a little, as will a cross country trip for the Seahawks. I wouldn't be afraid to start Sanchez if he's been your best option as of late. It's a risky time of year being the playoffs, but I think Sanchez benefits from the Eagles offensive system. If you feel you have a strong team outside QB, Sanchez should at least provide you with some decent fantasy numbers.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 - Sanchez vs. Dallas

Mark Sanchez threw for 307 yards and a TD last week in a win over the Titans. It marked the third-straight week Sanchez passed the 300-yard mark. He did throw two more INTs bringing his total to six in three-and-a-half games. He has seven TDs in that span.

Eagles QBs continue to leave fantasy points, and real points, on the field with the turnovers, but also continue to make for pretty solid fantasy plays. This week, Sanchez takes on Dallas on Thanksgiving in what is a pretty favorable mathup as the Cowboys are 21st in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Sanchez is a again a borderline QB1 play and every week has the potential to put up a good fantasy day. This very well could be a high-scoring game and the Birds will likely need Sanchez to throw a lot.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 - Sanchez vs. Tennessee

If you own an NFL football team you might not want Mark Sanchez quarterbacking your team based on last week's blowout loss to the Packers, his two fumbles and his two interceptions. But if you play fantasy football, you should only see he threw for 346 yards and two more TDs.

Sanchez's final fantasy stats were easily acceptable last week despite the Birds overall effort. Sanchez now has six TDs in about two-and-a-half games of work. He does have four INTs, however.

This week, Sanchez cracks the top-10 coming in at eighth on our list. It's an OK matchup against the Titans who are 14th in allowing fantasy points to QBs. But one factor is Philly is at home and another is they need to have a bounce back game - and the hope is the Titans provide just that.

Sanchez very well could be benefiting from the system, but either way he's putting up solid fantasy numbers. If you were a Foles owner, so far Sanchez has actually been an upgrade over what Foles was giving you.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 - Sanchez vs. Green Bay

Mark Sanchez's starting debut was a success last week. He threw for 332 yards and two TDs giving very solid fantasy numbers to owners who picked him up.

This week's matchup could be an interesting one. The Packers are 11th in allowing fantasy points to QBs but it's hard to believe there isn't some points scored in this one, unless both offenses try to work the clock to keep the other off the field. Sanchez is ranked as a QB2 this week, but if things get out of hand he could be in for a big day. For now, expect him to give you about what Nick Foles did with the hope he limits turnovers, which could lead to more production.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 - Sanchez vs. Carolina
Last week Mark Sanchez came on in relief of injured Nick Foles and looked pretty good, completing 15-of-22 for 202 yards and two TDs. He did throw two INTs, one not really his fault, but there should have been a third which was thrown right into the arms of a Texans linebacker.

Sanchez was likely a popular waiver wire grab this week and the hope is he can pick up right where Foles left off. Foles was a decent fantasy QB, but left a lot of plays on the field between overthrown passes and turnovers. The hope is Sanchez cuts down on the turnovers at least. Sanchez's first pass was a deep completion to WR Jeremy Maclin and the offense didn't seem to miss a beat with Sanchez in there. He even brings a little more speed which could be used to keep defenses honest on read option plays and keep plays alive rolling out.

Sanchez comes in this week has a high-end QB2. It's a decent matchup at home on Monday night against the Panthers who are 22nd in allowing fantasy points to QBs. If you were getting by with Foles as your starter, Sanchez should be able to provide you with similar production.

PHI QB Mark Sanchez - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

The hope is Mark Sanchez doesn't see any time this year for the Eagles, but one thing fantasy owners should note is he's had a very good preseason, even though it's been against backups. Sanchez would certainly be a guy to grab off the wire should Nick Foles miss any time this year.
