ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wildcard Weekend – Marion Grice vs. Carolina

Marion Grice has been more active in the passing game than running the ball the past couple outings. He didn’t get a carry last week but caught three passes. He only gained three yards, but it’s good to see him active in the passing game.

Still, against a tough opponent, sitting third on the depth chart, it’s hard to trust Grice in any fantasy format, and owners should look elsewhere on wildcard weekend.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 – Marion Grice vs. San Francisco
Marion Grice had only two touches last week for a total of nine yards from scrimmage. He gets some snaps and was running across the middle on multiple routes throughout the game, but he remains a change-of-pace guy, and the third tailback on the depth chart. That doesn’t bode well for fantasy value on a struggling offense and Grice remains a waiver wire guy in all leagues.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Marion Grice vs. Seattle
Marion Grice didn’t get a carry last week and seems to be firmly in the RB3 role on the Cardinals depth chart, with Kerwynn Williams and Stepfan Taylor in front of him. There’s no reason to have him on your fantasy roster at this time.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Marion Grice vs. St. Louis
Marion Grice was the odd man out last week, with only three carries and six yards. He’s in a three-way time share in Arizona and is facing the Rams’ tenth ranked run defense this week. There’s no reason to count on Grice this week, as he seems to be third on the depth chart and each of the three backs in Arizona will likely hurt the other two.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Marion Grice vs. Kansas City
Marion Grice had five carries for 16 yards in relief of the banged up Andre Ellington last week, and he added 24 yards on three receptions. Grice seems to be the backup, so he’s worth picking up as an insurance policy if you own Ellington. If Ellington is a go, then Grice has limited fantasy value, but if the hip injury keeps him out, then Grice should be considered a viable RB2 option against the 30th ranked Chiefs run defense.

Update:

Grice could get more work against the Chiefs with Andre Ellington now declared out for this week. Grice will split time with Stepfan Taylor, limiting the fantasy value of both players, but Grice will likely get enough work to be relevant for fantasy owners who are desperate following the loss of Ellington.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Marion Grice vs. Detroit
Marion Grice has taken on the backup role in Arizona, but last week that only netted him one carry behind workhorse and versatile threat Andre Ellington. Grice has some value has a handcuff behind Ellington, but it’s too risky to count on change of pace touches for Grice to be added to a fantasy roster in a non-handcuff capacity.

ARI RB Marion Grice - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Marion Grice vs. St. Louis
Marion Grice had some change of pace work against the Cowboys last week and wound up with five carries and 12 yards, including a late touchdown that pretty much sealed the Cardinal victory. Grice should maintain his role as the primary backup to Andre Ellington, but only has value in touchdown only leagues, where he could get some goal line work. Even then, five carries is about the most fantasy owners can expect from the rookie at this time and he should probably stay on waivers.
