LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Kyren Williams continues to see nearly all of the work at running back for Los Angeles. His efficiency is questionable but as long as he keeps hitting an 80%+ snap share, it's going to be hard to sit him on your bench. He saw 15 opportunities last week and gets a matchup this week against a generous Arizona defense.

Williams is our RB11. As long as he's seeing this work, he'll continue to be a weekly starter.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Kyren Williams is still getting a healthy majority of the running back touches for the Rams. He tallied 25 rush attempts on Sunday but did see a slight dip in his target rate. That seemed more game plan driven, though, since no other running backs really replaced that part of Williams' game.

The Eagles haven't allowed 15+ PPR Points to a single running back this season. Some of that is because of who they've faced. Washington and New England, for better or worse, have pretty evenly split committees. In fact, only three running backs have scored 20+ points on this defense dating back to the start of last year. It's a tough matchup, but you likely have to start Williams this week.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts

Kyren Williams has been woefully inefficient so far in 2023. We have him ranked as QB10 in our Week 4 projections but he's yet to crack 4.0 YPC in a game this year. Given that he's seeing all of the RB snaps, that hasn't been an issue yet. If that were to change, that could prove to be an issue.

He gets a matchup against a Colts team that has held opposing running backs under their expected rush yards the last two weeks. Running backs against Indianapolis have been inefficient to start the year as only Travis Etienne beat his rushing expectation. Williams is a must-start but keep an eye on his snap count moving forward.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Kyren Williams was one of the most sought after waiver targets once the news about Cam Akers broke. He's not a household name, but if the first week he got all of the work is any indication, he might be soon. Williams is all the way up at RB12 for Week 3 in our rankings.

He saw 14 carries and 10 targets in Week 2. Williams turned those opportunities into 100 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone once on the ground and once through the air. Given his role and the way that offense can flow through the running back position when it's clicking, he's a must start until further notice.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Kyren Williams was an extremely popular waiver wire add this week. He ran 30 routes compared to Cam Akers four routes on Sunday. He also had 14 touches compared to Akers' 11 until the Rams went up 24-13.

The problem is that he's in a tough matchup and the team seems very non-committal about either running backs' role. He's RB39 in our projections right now, only three spots behind Akers. Ideally, he's only on your roster as a stash so you can wait and see how the usage shakes out. If you have to start him, he's fine as a low-end flex option.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

After seeing a season-high 70% of the snaps and 14 touches in Week 12 Kyren Williams disappointed fantasy managers in Week 13. Williams saw his snaps drop to 28% and his touches plummet to three. Even more, concerning was Williams’ underlying usage vs. Cam Akers. Akers ran 19 routes to 11 for Williams while each player saw just one target in the receiving game. The game script could have a lot to do with how we view these running backs moving forward. Back in Week 12 vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams trailed by multiple scores which led to more usage for Williams. In Week 13, the Rams played a much tighter game vs. their division rival Seahawks. This led to a season-high 17 carries for Akers. Williams does profile as the better receiving back, and in games where the Rams are heavy underdogs, he could find himself on the PPR flex radar. This week vs. the Raiders the Rams are 6.5-point underdogs at home so the game script could lean back toward Williams. However, until we see more consistency in the usage for Williams his floor doesn’t justify his ceiling making him just a stash for the time being.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Since returning from injury back in Week 10, Kyren Williams has seen his touches increase in every game. This past week Williams led the team in touches with 14 and turned them into a combined 60 yards. That isn’t a bad showing for Williams as the Rams as a team only produced a combined 216 yards of offense in Week 12. Williams has carved out a nice role as the passing game back for the Rams. Last week he was second on the team in routes and had the second-most receiving production on the team going for (3-25).

Like Cam Akers, it will be impossible to trust any of these players for the rest of 2022 if starting quarterback Matthew Stafford is out. However, this could be an audition for the 2023 season for both Akers and Williams. If Williams does keep this type of usage for the rest of the year, he could be someone to target in dynasty leagues and 2023 redraft.
