KC RB Knile Davis - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Knile Davis vs. Seattle Seahawks
Knile Davis is a player with a pretty good reputation in the fantasy universe. He is commonly cited as one of the best handcuffs at the running back position. Unfortunately for Knile, he usually does not get enough work to offer flex value on his own, especially if the Chiefs are in a close game as they were on Sunday when Davis only had four carries in relief of Jamaal Charles. Maybe he might be worth a closer look when the Chiefs play the Raiders next week, but with the world champions coming to town, Davis needs to remain on your bench.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Knile Davis at Buffalo Bills
With Kansas City beating the New York Jets last Sunday but not blowing them out, Knile Davis did not see a lot of action, recording three carries for nine yards. He did not catch a pass. The Chiefs and Bills are expected to engage in a close one this weekend, which means owners on a scavenger hunt for a flex need to choose someone else.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Knile Davis vs. New York Jets

With Kansas City slaughtering St. Louis 34-7, Knile Davis got an expanded role as the Chiefs didn't need to ride Jamaal Charles into the ground. Davis rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 99-yard kickoff return for a score.

What can the Chiefs do for an encore? They are playing a 1-7 Jets team and they could easily rout them the way they did the Rams. However, New York bolsters a much better run defense and the Chiefs usually are not a high-scoring team. If you think the Chiefs will defy the odds, give Davis a shot as your flex. Otherwise, continue to think of him as a high-end handcuff to Charles.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Knile Davis vs. St. Louis Rams
Knile Davis was fairly busy during week seven in relief of Jamaal Charles, receiving 10 carries. However, it was not Knile’s strongest day, as he rushed for just 25 yards. He also caught one pass for 11 yards. The Rams have a poor run defense, yielding 145 yards per game. Nevertheless, Knile’s best moments have come when he’s been in the lead role, and those opportunities have been few and far between behind Charles. He remains an elite handcuff but there are better flex players out there.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 - Knile Davis at San Diego Chargers
It is common knowledge that Knile Davis is one of the best handcuffs in fantasy football. However, after big games earlier in the season, there was some hope that Davis might be able to obtain standalone value. That hope did not materialize in Kansas City’s last game, a 22-17 loss to San Francisco where Davis received just two carries and rushed for six yards. Maybe Davis will be a flex when the Chiefs draw an easier opponent, but San Diego does not fit that description.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Knile Davis at San Francisco 49ers
On the surface, the return of Jamaal Charles in week four was supposed to be bad news for Knile Davis. Instead, Davis was plenty involved as the Chiefs dominated New England 41-14. Knile rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Fantasy owners need to realize the numbers were a bit of a mirage. Davis saw more action because the game was a blowout and also because Charles left briefly because of cramps. While Davis has earned more touches and there might be some weeks where he could be started as a flex, this is not one of those weeks given San Francisco’s strong run defense.

KC RB Knile Davis - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Knile Davis vs. New England Patriots
Hyped as one of the best handcuffs heading into the season, Knile Davis proved he deserved the praise last weekend filling in for Jamaal Charles. Davis rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown as the Chiefs scored their first victory of the season. Many fantasy owners who had drafted both Charles and Davis or picked up Davis off the waiver wire also shared in Kansas City’s euphoria. However, the goodwill Davis generated will probably be short-lived, as Charles is on pace to play Monday night. The return of Charles will make Davis nothing more than a hazardous flex option.
