TEN WR Justin Hunter - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Justin Hunter Week 4 vs. Colts
Justin Hunter had just three receptions for 37 yards last week, giving him eight catches on the season. We're still waiting for that monster game from the tall, speedy wideout. Can it come this week with Charlie Whitehurst likely at QB? That's questionable.

TEN WR Justin Hunter - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Justin Hunter Week 3 vs. Bengals
With a juicy matchup for tight end Delanie Walker last week, Justin Hunter became something of the forgotten man, catching just two passes for 26 yards. He did have six targets, however, and bigger games are in the works. Cincinnati has given up some stuff down the field this season, and Hunter is the guy who stretches the field for the Titans. He might not get a high volume of catches, but he could get a couple of big ones this week. Use Hunter as a flex this week if needed and keep your fingers crossed.

TEN WR Justin Hunter - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Justin Hunter Week 2 vs Dallas
Justin Hunter did what he does best last week, making the most out of his three receptions, gaining 63 yards. He's nursing a knee injury that could slow him down a bit this week, but he has a nice matchup against Dallas. Use Hunter this week as a low-end No. 3 receiver or strong flex option and hope he gets into the end zone in addition to averaging 15 to 20 yards per catch.

TEN WR Justin Hunter - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Justin Hunter Week 1 vs Chiefs
Justin Hunter's big games last season - against Oakland and Denver - came with Matt Hasselbeck under center, not Jake Locker. But he and Locker have spent the offseason developing a rapport. Hunter's a great sleeper this season, but it's probably still a little early to hope he completely wakes up. It might take a while. If you have to use him, do so as a flex player this week.

TEN WR Hunter Justin - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Justin Hunter could be primed for a breakout season. He’s looked good in the preseason and had a couple of monster games in the second half of his rookie season in 2013.

Fantasy Downside
After a six-catch, 109-yard effort against Oakland last season, he had one reception for nine yards the following week against Indianapolis. He followed that up with four receptions for 114 yards and a score against Denver. In other words, inconsistency. That’s a killer for fantasy teams.

Bottom Line
Hunter is definitely worth taking a chance on later in your draft. Yes, he’s got a so-so quarterback situation, but 6-4 guys who run a 4.4 40 are tough to cover. His ADP currently has him going in the 10th to 12th round, which is a nice place to take a shot on a guy with great upside potential. At worst, you’ve got an OK fifth receiver. At best, he turns into a solid No. 3 guy with 100-yard-game potential. The main thing standing in his way is consistent playing time. Hunter needs to move ahead of Nate Washington to realize his potential.
