HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Versus the Ravens last Sunday, Jordan Akins caught all seven of his targets for 55 yards. As top WR Will Fuller was dealing with a hamstring issue, Akins owners had to be pleased that the veteran led the team in receptions, even if it was fellow TE Darren Fells who scored the team’s lone TD in the loss. Although Fuller should return and will steal targets from the other pass catchers, the Broncos were able to utilize Noah Fant at Pittsburgh last week. Consider Akins a TE2 play.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Baltimore Ravens
At Kansas City in Week 1, Jordan Akins scored Houston’s lone receiving TD. While the score came in the fourth quarter when the Texans were way behind, it was nice reward for owners who started him. Both Akins and Darren Fells finished with two grabs, but Akins collected twice as much yardage and the touchdown. Mving forward expect both TEs to remain a part of the Texans passing attack, making neither a good fantasy option.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Tennessee Titans
With Deshaun Watson throwing for under 200 yards at Tampa last Saturday, Jordan Akins received only two targets and didn’t have a catch. In the win over the Titans two weeks ago Akins registered two grabs for seven yards and is not a good fantasy option for the rematch.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In the win at Tennessee last Sunday, Jordan Akins received two targets, resulting in two short catches. Both of his TDs came all the way back in Week 3. With a healthy Will Fuller, Deshaun Watson has plenty of other pass-catching options, so look elsewhere for your starting TE.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Tennessee Titans
On a season-high nine targets in the loss to Denver last week, Jordan Akins finished with four receptions for 49 yards, marking his most productive game since Week 3. Akins continues to share the TE looks with Darren Fells but neither one of them is posting starter-worthy results lately. Even though Tennessee is near the bottom at stopping the pass Akins should only be a part of your lineup if you’re out of better options.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Denver Broncos
In the victory over New England last week, Jordan Akins finished with just a 19-yard reception – the fourth time this season he’s finished with a lone grab. On the year he has only 25 catches and both of his scores came back in September. There is no reason for him to be in your starting fantasy lineup, especially facing a good pass defense.

HOU TE Jordan Akins - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New England Patriots
Last Thursday versus the Colts Jordan Akins saw four looks from Deshaun Watson, leading to three receptions for 26 yards. It’s the fifth time this season he caught exactly three passes, but he’s totaled over 30 yards just twice. Akins is a TE2 play at home on Sunday versus the No. 2 overall New England defense.
