JAX RB James Robinson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Los Angeles Rams

James Robinson logged a fairly typical line in Week 12 when he saw 20 total touches, averaged 5.06 YPC while failing to find the endzone. Robinson will always struggle to score touchdowns in the current Jacksonville offense, but he sees enough volume to be a surefire fantasy starter now that he's healthy. In Week 13 Robinson will have to deal with a Rams defense that is loaded with stars but has actually struggled against the run at times this year. Robinson is always risky given the putrid state of the offense he plays in, but he gets enough volume that he has to be started when active. Keep him in lineups as a solid RB2 this week.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Atlanta Falcons
James Robinson continues to occupy the lead role out of the Jacksonville backfield even while nursing heel and knee injuries that have him limited in practice. Robinson handled all of the 14 RB touches for the Jags in Week 11, and while those touches have limited value on such a bad team, he still sees all of the targets and goal line touches the offense can offer. Robinson's bankable workload keeps him on the RB2 radar even in the face of extremely difficult surrounding circumstances. The Falcons come to town in Week 12 and are not an imposing matchup for opposing offenses. Robinson is a firm fantasy starter this week and for the foreseeable future.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. San Francisco 49ers
James Robinson returned to action in Week 10 and immediately saw 16 touches (12 carries and four receptions) as the clear lead back for the Jags. As long as Robinson is active, he will be fed in a Jacksonville offense starved for talent and playmakers. Efficiency can be tough to come by playing with a rookie QB and weak supporting cast, but Robinson's usage is simply too good to ignore for fantasy purposes. The 49ers will present a tough test in Week 11, but Robinson's role is so defined that he can still be counted on as a volume-based RB2. Feel free to start Robinson in Week 11 despite an unforgiving matchup.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Indianapolis Colts
James Robinson returned to practice on Thursday, setting him up for a possible return to action in Week 10 against the Colts. As long as he is reasonably healthy, Robinson should instantly return to the lead backfield role in Jacksonville and be set for 15+ touches each week. The Colts defense is near the middle of the league in most defensive metrics, meaning Robinson should immediately slot into the RB2 range upon his return to the field. Monitor the practice reports in Jacksonville heading into the weekend, but feel free to get Robinson back into starting lineups so long as he doesn't suffer any sort of setback in practice Friday.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Buffalo Bills
James Robinson is listed as questionable heading into Week 9 following an ankle/heel injury he suffered against the Seahawks in Week 8. Even if he plays, Robinson will be in for a tough day dealing with physical limitations against a good defense in the Bills. Robinson's role as the clear lead back in Jacksonville means he would surely see enough touches to warrant flex consideration if active, but fantasy managers will likely need to monitor injury reports up until kickoff to know his status for sure. Consider Robinson a shaky flex option if he suits up, but make sure to check his status Sunday morning to verify he's playing in Week 9.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks
Now past his bye week, James Robinson looks locked into a borderline RB1 fantasy role on a weekly basis moving forward. The Jags continue to phase Carlos Hyde out of the offense and hand the keys over to Robinson, as Hyde only played nine snaps and didn't receive a carry in Week 6. Meanwhile, Robinson hasn't received fewer than 19 touches in a game since Week 2. That's the bellcow-type usage Robinson saw last season that turned him into a fantasy darling. Week 8 will bring a soft matchup against a weak Seattle defense that is third-worst in the NFL in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs. Robinson is locked into a heavy workload and should be able to find plenty of room to run against the Seahawks. Keep him in all lineups as an RB1 this week.

JAX RB James Robinson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Miami Dolphins

James Robinson is in the midst of a hot streak, finishing with 75+ rushing yards in three straight games and scoring four touchdowns over that span. His passing game usage has been inconsistent, but he is the clear lead back in Jacksonville and hasn't registered fewer than 14 touches since Week 1. The Jags will host the struggling Dolphins in Week 6, a matchup that suggests a decent game script for Robinson and he should continue to see good usage working in front of Carlos Hyde. After some early-season jitters, Robinson has settled back into the borderline RB1/RB2 range and can be started with confidence on a weekly basis.
