Scouting report

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Atlanta Falcons

2022 has been a good year for Gerald Everett in his first season with the Chargers. He has 27 receptions for 305 yards and two touchdowns, with his 43.6 yards per game a new career high. Everett is averaging 8.0 Half PPR points per game and is the TE12 for the season.

With the Chargers' wide receiver corps decimated by injury, Everett is one of the players that should benefit against the Falcons in Week 9. The Falcons are ranked 28th in aFPA allowed to tight ends. Everett should be one of the top performers at the tight end spot this week.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Seattle Seahawks

Gerald Everett saw seven targets against the Broncos, his most looks since he saw ten in Week 2. But he could only convert these into five grabs for 29 yards, finishing with 5.4 Half PPR points and the TE24 for the week.

Everett should bounce back against the Seahawks in Week 7, given their complete inability to stop anyone resembling a tight end. The Seahawks rank dead last in aFPA to tight ends in 2022. Even with Keenan Allen likely to return, Everett should see enough work to flirt with top 12 numbers in Week 7.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Denver Broncos

Week 5 was the first truly disappointing week of the season for Gerald Everett, in which he saw season lows all across the board. He was targeted three times but caught a single ball for two yards. Urgh...Everett finished as the TE49 in Half PPR formats.

Everett could enjoy something of a bounceback in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos. As solid as they have been to most fantasy positions, the Broncos are only 11th in aFPA to tight ends. So it's really not a terrible matchup, as long as Everett sees something like the workload he was enjoying before last week. He's a top 12 option this week.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Cleveland Browns

Week 4 was another good week for Gerald Everett and his fantasy managers. Despite a season-low 66% snap share, Everett caught five of his six targets for 61 yards and his first touchdown since Week 1. Everett amassed 14.6 Half PPR points and finished as the TE4 for the week. He's currently the overall TE5.

Everett might be in for a slightly tougher game in Week 5. The Browns currently rank No.10 in aFPA allowed to the tight end spot. Everett is still a player that fantasy managers should start, but he projects more as a low-end TE1 this week. Still, if you have him, play him.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Houston Texans

Like most members of the Chargers offense, Week 3 was not a banner day at the office for Gerald Everett. Everett hauled in just two of his six targets for 25 scoreless yards, despite playing a season-high 75% of the offensive snaps. Everett posted 3.5 Half PPR points, finishing as the TE33 for Week 3. Everett is still the TE7 this season, despite this poor outing.

Everett will look to get back on track against the Texans in Week 4. The Texans have been a middle-of-the-pack prospect for tight ends so far in 2022, ranking 17th in aFPA to the position. Everett should be viewed as a low-end TE1 this week.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Gerald Everett's solid start to the season continued in Week 2 against the Chiefs. Everett caught six of his 10 targets for 71 yards, posting 10.1 Half PPR points for the week. Sadly, he'll be remembered by many as the player Justin Herbert was targeting on the pass that became a back-breaking 99-yard pick-six. But Everett has been there for his fantasy managers in 2022, currently sitting as the TE4 in Half PPR scoring.

Everett remains a viable weekly option this week against the Jaguars. The Jaguars haven't been blown away by tight ends so far in 2022, but they haven't exactly gone up against top-tier talent at the spot. Everett should be in line for a top 12 week once more in Week 3.

LAC TE Gerald Everett - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Gerald Everett's Chargers debut went as well as could be expected for him and his fantasy managers, despite only seeing four targets. He reeled in three of the looks for 54 yards and a touchdown, pulling in 12.9 Half PPR points on his way to a TE4 finish for the week.

The likely absence of Keenan Allen should see all Chargers pass-catchers receive a boost in targets, and Everett is no exception. Zach Ertz saw four targets against the Chiefs in Week 1, and while he only managed two receptions for 14 yards he did find the end zone. Everett should be viewed as a top-tier TE2 but could easily find himself in TE1 airspace.
